What's the latest book you read that, once you had finished it, you were "Wow!"?

For me that was Boomsday by Christopher Buckley.  No LGBT content in it, but it was an incredibly funny book.

...I really haven't been reading enough lately.

But a few off the top of my head, in no particular order: Fingersmith by Sarah Waters, America: The Book by the Daily Show crew, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J. K. Rowling, Stone Butch Blues by Leslie Feinberg, V for Vendetta by Alan Moore... yeah, I'll stop there.

I read entirely too much... The most recent book I have read was Brisingr by Christopher Paolini. I personally love fantasy/sci fi books so I was excited when this book was finally released.

I  just finished Fever Pitch by Nick Hornby, which was really good, a bit different from the kinds of things I've read before, and it's about football Smile!

Wicked by Gregory Maguire. I have no words with which to describe how awesome the end of that book was.  I demand that everyone go read it...now. Seriously. Grab some money, and go find a bookstore that has it right this moment. You won't regret it. And if you do, you're weird and I never want to speak to you again, so there!  Razz

Oh yes.

Last one I read was Jingo. My favourites are the Watch ones, and then the witches ones. What about yours?

I love this book, and you can tell how good it is because it won the Steven T Colbert award for literary excellence!

I'm the only one who's read SBB? Sad

Looks like I'll have to add that Colbert book to my to-read list, though. If it's anywhere near as good as the Daily Show crew's America: The Book, joyous tears will be shed.
