|
Anyone out there a Plants vs. Zombies fan? I bought it and loved in and eventually got my absolutely non-video playing girlfriend to love it too. Now, here's the problem. She's about to completely finish the game and wants to play some games that are similar. I know that PvZ is a tower defense game, but I think the fact that it wasn't actual towers or vehicles with guns and what not was really appealing to her. So are there any other games out there similar to PvZ in the fact that they are a tower defense game, but it was really cartoony. Thanks!

Yea, I thought about that one for her considering she loves South Park as well, but unfortunately she doesn't have a 360 up at school (she's going to college 2 hours from me), just her laptop. _________________ ~ Kara [Twitter | Facebook | LastFM] |

There are a couple of games that come to mind for tower defense style games.
Desktop TD: Its a simple and fun TD that is just a free flash game, it definitely doesn't have the depth that PvZ does, but its simple and free.

Defense Grid: The Awakening
Its a bit more of a hard core style TD game, mecha and what not. But it does have a rather amusing robot narrator/mentor who is rather amusing. It has a good bit of replay value and as a TD enthusiast I had a TON of fun with it. Personally I enjoyed it a bit more than PvZ, but I do like things somewhat complicated. I don't know if this is what she would want, but it is definitely a good solid TD. It is available on steam.
Though if you are also looking at just silly/amusing games, there is always World of Goo. Very fun, light hearted and has a similar sort of problem solving mentality as in many TDs. (At least for me anyways.)
(I would want to offer up a TD I am making, but it is slightly still in development, and really not sure if I will finish it anyways. )
I hope that helps, and good luck with finding her something.
