Where I live there is actually a pretty decent population of lesbians.  There is about two different gay clubs and a couple gay/lesbian bars that I'll go to every now and then with friends.  I get really insecure sometimes because I haven't really had any girls approach me.  My friend says it's because I look intimidating, but I'm the sweetest person, lol.  My other friend says I don't "look" like I'd be lesbian or gay, etc.  [Btw, can anyone inform me what we are supposed to look like? :-p!]  Most the girls I've dated in my past have been met through Myspace, which, don't get me wrong, that's fine.  But, it'd be swell having someone approach me every once in a while.  Or even to be able to have the guts to approach someone.  And not just as far as dating potentials but friends.  I just normally am too shy, insecure, or afraid because maybe they have a girlfriend that wouldn't really appreciate my friend purposal. Any one have any pointers to approaching or be friending?  Or have similar issues?

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and have this issue. I meet lesbians but most of the time, we end up as friends, which is fine. I love all my gals as friends but it'd be nice to really MEET someone for once. Sad And if I ever do meet someone I feel interested in, they're either involved with someone already, interested in someone else or just plain not interested in me. Maybe I'm too g33ky and not 'lesbian' enough for my own good? >_<;

In all honestly i find most lesbians i meet seem to be too self involved to actually notice people around them. Sad. I seem to be a self loathing lesbian lol.

Funny you should say that, because a girl gave me her number, and I seriously considered texting her and telling her she should get to know me on myspace or facebook first. what a loser, I know. I feel very uncomfortable being approached by people, I'd rather get to know a girl in a friend-type situation first Embarassed  maybe I'm just too shy.

hmm... You already go to clubs and bars. I always assumed it would be easy to meet people that way.

I always assumed that's an easier way to meet people as well. I thought I'm only not meeting enough people because I don't get out there. :S

Oh, I didn't mean it in a bad way!  i don't mind meeting people online at all and  I actually do that too most of the time too.  I just meant that it'd be nice to have someone approach me.  I wouldn't feel so hideous or alien as my friend gets hit on multiple times at a gay club as I stand there awkwardly.

And yeah it'd be nice to find/ meet someone.  Its tough.

*sigh* You haven't seen awkward until you've met me. If someone came up to me and tried to hit on me I would probably stumble on my words and smile like a dumbass while standing there awkwardly. I just get super flustered... some people think it's cute...I beg to differ.
I can't deal so well with people flat out hitting on me...im not witty enough to say something back...so I just say...uhh thanks. If they're just being friendly I'm pretty chill...and probably too nice for my own good (long story) -_-

I wish I had some suggestions to give you but instead I lack the skills myself to do so.*sob*

That sounds like me too.  I get nervous and I ramble too though.  Probably sound like a complete idiot.  And from there I have no idea what to do if someone hit on me.  I have the problem also where I sometimes [when first meeting someone] give off a sense that I'm not interested.  In truth, my mind is trying to race through flash cards or something.

I think I'd be more comfortable if there was a lesbian gamer club opened XD

Now that's a good idea! I'd totally be in my element Cool

When a girl hits on me, I'm just thinking "um, do you know that i'm not cool?" but if there was a lesbian gamer club, maybe I'd shine Shocked hahaha or maybe not.
