Anyone see this yet? What did you think of it?
I thought the theatrical ending was too cheap. The original ending doesn't really scare you but it's more disturbing and realistic.

I thought the ending left a lot to be thought about.
I can't wait for the sequel. :]
I actually really enjoyed this movie. To me, it was the suspense and the in depth characterization that made it scarier for me. And I'm not normally an easily frightened person. _________________

| They did a good job at making you dread the night time segments. I kept thinking more was going to happen and even day time started to not feel safe. |

Yea, same with me.
I thought the Ouija Board scene was pretty good.
I for one had an awful experience with one and have never went back to them. I didn't use it but a friend of mine did even though I warned him. _________________

I've been curious about them but never tried one myself because I'm scared I'd let a ghost out lol.
What happened? |

My friend always wanted to "talk to the dead". I told him not to play around with that crap because it's not a joke. But he wanted to be stupid anyway. So, he asked me should he use a Ouija Board. I told him no, only because he'll release something he doesn't have the experience to send back. And lo and behold, he finds one and uses the Ouija Board anyway to channel some spirit with his douchebag friends.
What most amateurs don't understand is that 'good' spirits aren't channeled but 'demons' are, because demons see the Board as a doorway to come through. And without thinking or realizing what he's done, he ends up bringing some 'thing' into his house. He freaks out when paranormal crap starts happening and damn near poops himself when the poltergeist-like instances starts occurring. Like the ignorant douche he was (And NEVER listens to me), he BURNS the Board. You don't want to EVER have to BURN that board, otherwise the DOOR from which you brought that thing in through, is now CLOSED forever.
What ended up happening was 2 demons ended up tormenting him and his family to the point in which they literally had to move out of the house. Blessing the house and exorcising it did nothing but piss whatever the hell it was OFF even more. He moved like a WEEK after bringing those things into his house. It was THAT bad...
Word to the wise: Never use a Ouija Board to channel spirits. EVER.
Even the most inexperienced mediums and psychics tell people not to use them because they do more harm then good. _________________

I thought that the movie was a pretty fun ride. It definitely did a good job of setting up the tension and dread of just being in the house. It's like the producers said, there's a lot of movies out there that make you not want to go to ____ place. Blair Witch made you never want to go out in the woods, Psycho makes you never want to take a shower again and Paranormal makes you question the safety of your very own house and room where you sleep at night.
I think the freakiest, not so much scary but definitely freaky part was the being dragged out of bed part. A lot of the times, I sleep with my leg sticking out of the covers so I was like 'Oh hell no!', LOL!
I have yet to see the original ending though so I guess I'll have to get around to it at some point. _________________

Yea, that part made me jump and now I tuck every part of my body sticking out right inside the covers. XD
Besides, I have CARPET, I'd get rug burn and that crap HURTS. LMAO. _________________

I've heard things like people burning the board or cutting it up, only for it to restore itself like nothing ever happened. Oh and I think you'd have to bless a home several times to get rid of a demon and you have to keep a positive atmosphere.
That's scary that that happened. |

It depends on the level of activity and the severity of the demon. If the demon is too powerful and can actually physically HARM the occupants in the house, blessing the home will do nothing but make the demon more angry. That idiot isn't positive about CRAP. He was ALREADY considered a Gothic kid, so him and all his darkness only made the atmosphere that much more hazardous.
Since its happened, he's been a bit more open to the paranormal and respects it a little more since I was right all along...
