I tend to watch a lot of movies and I'm looking for good recommendations. So what would you recommend and why...oh yeah I'm not too heavy on romance, but if it's original then why not _________________ Let's make cappuccino babies!!

You've probably seen all of these, but this is some of my fav movies:
Better Than Chocolate, Playing By Heart, Go Fish, Imagine Me and You, Loving Annabelle, Saving Face... to name but a few.
I can't think of any really amazing movies I've seen lately.

Hmm...assuming you haven't watched any of these already..
For artsy stuff, I say watch The Libertine or Stranger Than Fiction.
For action, watch Equilibrium or District B-13.
For kiddy stuff, watch either Avatar: The Last Airbender or Over the Hedge.
For absolute wackiness, watch Kamikaze Girls.
For comedy, watch the british comedies Spaced and/or Black Books.
For something Japanese animation, watch Kaleido Star.
For drama, watch Cinderella Man.
For hot lesbian stuff, watch the BBC series for Tipping the Velvet.
...yeah, my taste in movies/tv is pretty diverse. I blame my dad for making me a movie junkie. And yes, I own each thing I mentioned and much, much more. n.n; _________________ Currently stuck on:

I second Better Than Chocolate, Saving Face, and Loving Annabelle. Would also add (from a quick look at my shelves):
Desert Hearts
When Night is Falling
Entre Nous
It's in the Water
High Art
Celestial Clockwork
Bound
Prey For Rock & Roll
Shelter Island
The Hunger
Fire
My Mother Likes Women
Treading Water
French Twist
Sticky Fingers Of Time
And a couple of excellent documentaries:
Celluloid Closet
Times of Harvey Milk

Awesome movie!! One of my favorite Japanese movies. I love Anna Tsuchiya. I have the manga too...I'd like to get the novel yet. |

Yes, Kamikaze Girls is made of very much win. XD I don't think there was more than a 5 minute period when I wasn't laughing. XD I haven't seen the manga or novel yet but will probably pick it up in time. :3 _________________ Currently stuck on:

Lesbian movies or non lesbian movies?
Loving Annabelle
Better Than Chocolate
Kissing Jessica Stein
DEBS
Saving Face
(those would be my lesbian film recommendations since I think a lot of lesbian movies suck the big one!)
Non Lesbian Movies
Alien & Aliens (because Ripley rocks!)
Terminator 1 & 2 (because they're awesome!!)
Star Wars 4-6 (because you HAVE to)
Playing By Heart (because its cute)
My Fair Lady (because it's classy and funny)
Labyrinth (COOOOOOOL)
The Princess Bride (okay so it has romance, it also has ROUS's)
Had to edit as i forgot the last two.. which is ridiculous! |

yay! someone mentioned D.E.B.S.. where else can you see Jordana Brewster as notorious villain Lucy Diamond, seduce the lovely blond D.E.B. played by Sara Foster?
Mr. Brooks is also great. Demi Moore is a kick-ass detective who actually uses her gun.
Braveheart
When Night Is Falling
Planes, Trains & Automobiles
Pitch Black, and The Chronicles of Riddick
The Punisher
Grindhouse - especially 'Death Proof' - Zoe Bell, need I say more?
Kill Bill 1 & 2 - especially the scene where Elle loses her remaining eye, and Lucy Liu's character's speech to the yakuza mafia. priceless movie moments! |

I really liked Kissing Jessica Stein also. It was smart and funny and moved along at a nice pace and best of all nobody died or became evil.
I would also recommend La Vien En Rose it's the life story of Edith Piaf excellently played by Marion Cotillard. The film is unusual in the way the scenes of her life are not in chronalogical order i.e one minute she is 8 and the next she is 47 ect so it helps to know a little bit about Piaf . |
