360 GamesHey there ladies. Since the holiday season is fast approaching, I was thinking about treating myself this year and buying an Xbox 360. Now, I know there are some great games for the system, like Halo 3, but I was wondering if anybody could suggest a couple good games to start my collection. Any game will do, since I'm not really too picky. Thanks in advance!

Don't be drawn into the Halo hype, leave that one on the shelf unless you like bitchy online deathmatch.
Some suggestions from me would be:
Tomb Raider Legend
BioShock
Th Orange Box
Overlord
I have a friend who is addicted to Uno and Puzzle Quest on XBLA, but I don't have those to personally recommend them.
Hope that helps. I'm sure there are people here who have had there Xbox 360s longer than I have

Thanks for the suggestions.
I'm not a big fan of Halo anyway, especially after playing online with a friend over at her house. Totally turned me off to it.
I played the PS2 version of TR: Legend and loved it, so I'll definitely pick that one up. I usually rent games before I actually buy them, since I don't have much money half the time, so I'll probably rent the others and buy them if I like what I played.

gamesugh i would say halo....haha but i see your not quite the fan....but seriously it can suck...but if you play with friends or whatever and create your own maps and games it can be tons of fun.....but Hitman blood money i really dig....resident evil 5 will be coming out for it which looks hot....i downloaded uno which i have alot if fun playing....Indigo prophecy is not a 360 game.....but will play on either xbox system and that is awesome.....other then that i have been stocking up on Wii games.....so i haven't tried to many 360 games i think my next buy for it will be either scene it or sims castaway (but i may rent that first...only b.c i hated urbz and if its any thing like that i don't want it)

Yeah, I would say Halo, cause that's my favorite, but um...well, the only other games I've played are GRAW 2 and BioShock. They're both good games, but I wouldn't purchase them. I only buy games if they have a lot of re-playability. BioSchock is one of the best games I've played, but I wouldn't buy it. Maybe when it's in the bargain bin 5 years from now...
Oh, I agree with Indigo Prophecy. It's one of my all-time favorite games. I recently picked up a copy of it.

Here is the list of games that i bought since i got my 360. And since i still have them it means i like them, because i immediately sell games that i don't
Perfect Dark Zero (If it wasn't for Joanna Dark, i wouldn't have bought this)
King Kong (I like cinematic games)
Tomb Raider Legend (Best looking Lara ever! Check my Avatar, it's an ingame screenshot i took myself)
Oblivion (Very nice looking RPG)
Test Drive Unlimited (Race the streets of Oahu (Hawaii). I love the free roaming style of this game)
Gears of War (I love the dark sci-fi setting)
Lost Planet (a very beautifull sci-fi shooter)
Halo 3 (Fantastic single player campaign, who cares about the online part ?)
Conan (a very funny game, yes i mean it )
The Orange Box (Half Life 2 Rocks and then theres "Portal")
That's it from me. Will gladly answer questions about any of the games
take care,
Crimson

Thanks for all of the suggestions!
I will definitely have to give all these games a look. Now I'm even more excited to get a 360

I'd like to add Stranglehold to that list, I loved playing it.
Also Ghost Recon 2 Advanced Warfighter, a great online game, but still cool in single player.
With XBLA, you HAVE to download Puzzle Quest and Uno, I love both of those games. For me, Puzzle Quest on both the DS and XBLA is the best most played game of the year LOL.
I'm sure I'll think of some more but I'll come back and add them

I've rented Stranglehold. I thought it was a good game, but I beat it in two days. It's really short. I liked how you can jump around and shot and blow stuff up. Fun. I like games like that.

Yup totally agree, definitely one to rent instead of buying. It's far too short, but soooo classy with the bullet slow down and the move where you spin around taking out all enemies whilst avoiding all shooting.
Lovely stuff.

I can't believe it doesn't have online play. I'm stunned by that. I think that sucks, could have been a total blast to have that!
So what is Scene it! like now you have it? I'm really keen to get my hands on this too. I think it'll be a fun christmas party game.

gamesso scene it is pretty fun.....i was addicted last night...its based on a DVD board game...it comes with thiese 4 wireless controllers for the game....there is a big buzzer button then like for basic buttons lined up horizontally(then your star, select, and xbox button at the bottom).....its cool you are in hollywood and basically then consists of popculture, movie knowledge, unscrambling things, watching movie clips and anwsering questions, listenign to audio clips, ect...it is a great party game....you can link you xbox live and gamertag to it to unlock acheivments as you play....but it would def rock if you could play against other online gamers....
i also know an above post mentioned lack of funds to buy video games....i have the same problem but i buy them anyway....there are a few subscriptions things you do wher yo pay like 10 bucks a month get a game keep as long as you want and when you return it you get another for free.....so if you rent alot this is a much better route to go!! i do the blockbuster online rental thing with movies and i love it...i also get instore coupons that i can use with video games....i think they have a bunch of packages....that is worth checking out as well.....much better then netflix

I used to have Gamefly, back when it was $10 a month for two games, and was pretty cool. I got to play a lot of games I normally wouldn't have been able to play.
I loved playing the original Scene It (I'm the master among my group of friends), and the Xbox version sounds really fun.

I belong to Blockbuster Total Access. I use to get the free e-coupon, and unlimited exchanges in store, but then I got an email that they're changing the subscriptions. Now I only get two in-store exchanges, and no more e-coupons. I always used the coupon to rent a 360 game. I'm kinda ticked I don't get it now. I do have a coupon (1 a month for 12 months) for Hollywood Video, but they are always out of the games I want. Grr.

hmmmmi will have to check out my blockbuster thing....i don;t think i got any deal changes....haha i know all about hollywwods coupons...i use to run a hollywood/game crazy store and i had stacks and stacks of free coupons...i actually just tossed the rest of them out as there are no hollywoods around here any more and they expired at the end of the year....always check to see what hollywood has behind the counter...i know when i left like years ago they started keeping all games behind the counter due to theft...and people still stole the empty cases so they may not have a display box out for a game they do have...

Woah, really? I just put an application in at my local Game Crazy. Haven't heard back from them yet. I really want to work there though.

Arggghhhh I don't have Call of Duty 4 yet and I soooo want it. I'll probably get it this week since I'm hearing constant good things about it.
So you're into PES huh? I'm a FIFA girl, but I'm intrigued to see if PES 2008 is any good...

i used to be a fifa fan until i played PES3 and that was the end, we're actually having a PES 2008 tournament this 2008, i'll doubt if i'll win but i'll see what the game play is like compared to PES6!
