Aion: The Tower Filled With Awesome Winged Lesbians.Or I wish. Haha. It's actually Aion: The Tower of Eternity, a new fantasy MMORPG published by NCSoft. It's P2P but judging from the videos, it looks like an incredible game. Anyone heard about it and are certain that they are gonna it?
I never played a game which requires a monthly fee but I'm willing to pay for this game!
Information can be find here: http://www.aiononline.com/us/
Or here: http://www.aionsource.com (is more informative in my opinion).

There was mention of it in this post, yeah. I don't know, if they have a beta, I'll give it a swing but at this point, I don't really have the time/money for a P2P MMO. x_x;

Hmm, I'll definately have to check it out. Too bad I can't find a trial run though.

Aion had an China OBT 3 weeks ago and now they are releasing two new regions on April 30th, free for 15 days.
You can download the client here or here. Yes the client is gonna be in Chinese but there is an English patch lying around.
The downside about this is that you will need to create an account and everything is in Chinese. So if you are interested in trying the game, I can help you register. Just PM me.
I'm currently playing and utterly love it! Is pretty much what I expected.

Game comes out in NA this fall (September supposedly). A lot like Lineage 2, some FFXI, a touch of Daoc frontiers.
Looking forward to playing

Aaahhh! A guildie from WoW recently told me about Aion.. and I was a bit hesitant at first since I'm somewhat still into wow, having been only played for less than a year now. However, when I actually checked out the game's website.. it looked amazing and uber fun.
Somewhat looking forward to it with knowing so little about it, so perhaps I'll purchase it when it comes out.

Oh, also anyone in the beta for this:
How good of PCs are you all using to run this? Looking at the videos on the site it seems like the game would have pretty high system reqs, but I can't seem to find them on the site.

Found the system minimum requirement on the Taiwanese Aion site:
| Code: | CPU : Pentium 4 2.8GHz/SEMPRON 2800
RAM : 1GB
VGA : GeForce 6600/Radeon *1550
HDD : 30GB
OS : Windows XP SP2/Vista
DirectX : 9 (2008.6) |
I'm running it on my decently new laptop and it runs fine. My FPS doesn't go over 40 but still good enough to kill around. Didn't test fortress sieges but I reckon it will be lag like hell in this case... My specs are dual core, 3GB ram, GeForce 8500M GS and Vista.

I was trying out both servers to see more of each faction, Elyos and Asmodian. Definitely going Asmodian. The beta event weekends are a nice idea for those wanting to see how they like game, however, I hate to relevel chars so won't be playing the events much. Wipes coming in four weeks then one or two more times before release (so the rumor goes, yet to find a dev saying that).
As for system, I'm playing it on AMD Athlon 3G duel, 3gig mem, GeForce 9600 GT 512mem, which runs it without a glitch. Haven't done a raid situation or siege so not sure how it does then but the main city when packed with players doesn't seem to bother it. I keep textures for world and models at near max or at max in dang near all games, however, I do keep shadows off. They bug me for some reason. *shrug*

I'm definitely playing AIon. I checked out the last two betas and just fell in love with the game. I've never payed for a game in my life but it has everything I have been looking for. There is going to be at least 3 LGBT Legions in the game if anyone is interested in checking them out.
The Q-Legion is going to be Dual Faction and has legions for Asmodian and Elyos on both the EU and NA servers. Check them out HERE. (I'm a member ^^)
The Rainbow Mafia is an Elyos legion on the NA server. Check them out HERE.
Taint is also going to have an Elyos legion on the NA servers. I do not have any info on their Aion website as of yet.
All of the LGBT legions on Elyos NA will be on the same server come launch so we can try to make a friendly environment and awesome alliance for everyone. I hope to see some of you in game.

Well, after WoW became super easy and just plain boring, I convinced a bunch of guildies to purchase the game.
So along with myself and the guildies in tow we played Aion for the last two betas, and everyone has loved it so far. Its pretty amazing graphically, and the game play is very different. I LOVE the chainskills. Also, there is an in game quest helper, that will actually locate quest NPCs for you. How awesome is that?
One thing I don't like about the game so far is just the UI, but nothing a few add ons won't fixed. And trust me, there are people working on them now, and will probably be ready for launch.

im definatly keen to check this game out when its released. I'm too lazy to go through the whole beta thing though

Anyone actually playing this? I just bought it and it's amazing graphics wise.
I found the intro quest area/storyline pretty fun too and interesting. Though levels 1-10 felt like a bit of a slog overall.

I walked into the local gaming shop yesterday, saw the price of Aion and almost gagged >.<! $99 for a game that only gives you the first month free...i guess its cause its new and so much hype yadayada, but i cant justify that price tag atm...

So I just got this and am downloading now, hopefully I will be able to meet people in game. I am joining to play with a good friend of mine, though I still need to get her server info...
Though were are people playing on this? I totally want to roll up an alt to play with people! ^^

Every other gamer I know is talking about this game... They say it's a lot like Lineage II, though, so I've been holding off trying. Can't afford to get addicted to a game again. :{

Ok, so I finally got it downloaded and have a couple of toons rolled. If anyone wants to chat/group, I have a Scout (Soon to be Assassin) on Ariel Elyos side named Caelrin, and a Cleric on Lumiel Asmodias side named Kirna.
Feel free to add me to your friends! ^^
