All Lesbian WoW guild - is it possible?OK WoWers - roll an alt on Proudmoore server and send me a note to join the brand new all lesbian guild! It's about time don't you think? Proudmoore has 4 gay guilds which are mostly gay men and straight women. So....I think its time we had or very own guild! Just formed it this week. Guild name is Dark Ladies. We will focus on socializing and leveling at a casual pace. Even if you have a toon on another server, roll an alt just for fun. Let's get this party started!

I like the idea, but I don't think it's practical.
How would you screen members? And once it gets out that its a lesbian guild, I suspect there will be all sorts of harrasment. Guys posing as lesbians looking for cyber and that sort of thing.
Still,if I wasn't heavily involved with my characters on Moon Guard, I'd stop by and join, just to be supportive. (I still might )

You forgot to mention what your character name was so we could message you, as well as whether it's alliance or horde-side. Also, it's still worth a try, but I agree with the prediction of guys and perhaps others trying to join up just because it's supposed to be all lesbian.

i agree with Margali. even though i'm not on WoW anymore, while it'd be nice to have an all lesbian guild, there really is no way to truly verify if someone is 1) actually a girl, 2) actually a lesbian and 3) being honest about both. i mean, i'm sure you wouldn't exclude (decent) guys, just gay guilds don't exclude women should they want to join, and even if you did, Blizzard would probably shoot down the guild right there. in fact, i recall an article a year or so back where i think there was a girl trying to start a GLBT -friendly- guild, was advertising it in General or Town chat and she was warned that she was in violation of the Terms of Use. but that was a few years back so maybe they made some adjustments to the ToU?

I think they ended up winning that dispute against Blizzard. Basically Blizzard told them they couldn't do it in the game, but could advertise out of game, because advertising in game would be encouraging others to harass them. I think they ended up changing their policy over that though, and there was much public apology.

I don't play WoW anymore like a couple others, but when I did we tried to just make an all female guild and had loads of trouble from guys playing females.
You can kinda tell the guys after a while but one or two usually slip through. I don't know how you can effectively screen them out for a lesbian guild.
I love the idea though and wish you well!!
If you get it to work to your satisfaction let us know what you did please because I'd be interested in doing this for AoC or maybe War when they release.

Well it is possible cause we did when we were bored on eu servers. It was named Kitties, it was girls only and the officers were lesbians.
The result : mm yup we got some nasty comments however generally we were loved. (=
It was pure fun to get great comments on crossrealms bg I actually met some other lesbians on other realms
You never know the result without trying (= The girls on the Alliance side wanted to join our guild too, some of them created cute female taurens and put some kitties to AH for the members (=
Well getting /purr /scratch emotes from everywhere is very enjoyable /giggle

back in the early days of EQ 1, I was part of a guild called "Amazon Sisters." Not lesbian, but all female characters. We accepted that many of the players were male, but so long as they played a female avatar, and were good people, it was cool. We never had any problems or harrassment that I know of, but I think times have changed. MMOs were still very new and the community was so much smaller. And I think it was a different type of crowd; more mature, at least in behavior.
That was the best guild I've ever been a part of. Such a fun group of players. I really miss them.
