If any are interested, they are doing a promotion right now, giving old players some free time (till end of July), some free in game items, and boosting XP in some zones. So if you used to have an account, now would be a good time to get back in (promotion includes all expansions, so be prepared for a LONG patch/download.

Anyway, I play on Test Server, and can be found mostly on the Level 80 barb warrior known as Rentia. Chat me up if I am online and I'll try to help you out.

I have always wanted to try out Test, especially since most everyone I know is retired or raids all the time, but I'm not too keen on totally starting over (I do know about /testbuff... I'm just attached to my characters). I've heard of a few instances where the GMs have copied/transferred people from Live who are interested in moving there, do you know if that still happens? I have a little team of 60s who would love a change of scenery.

The Devs, earlier this year, had a /testcopy command up on live for a couple days. However, it was so badly implemented that it almost ruined the test server economy. They say they are working on redoing it to allow people to copy their live characters to test once more, but no time frame has been given.

I don't know how far along in progression your characters are. I happen to be a part of the top level raid organization on test, and we are not to close to top live guilds. Right now, we are basically learning DPoB tier 1 raids, and also do ToB and DK. We were able to get a bunch of fabled weapons, so we are close to starting TSS raids as well.

When I moved to test, I did /testbuff to 25, and duo'd with a friend to 50 in under a week of casual play. Got to 70 (high at the time) about 2 weeks later with less play time. The hotzones on test give double the xp they do on live, and normal zones give double experience as well. So normal zones are X2 xp, and hotzones are x4 xp.

Now I am level 80, and probably 5th or 6th best geared warrior on the server and I game fairly casual with several multi month long breaks over the 2 years I have been on Test.

There are other benifits of test as well, like free expansions, pretty much no hassles on camping stuff if you need to.....and no over crowding in popular zones. We also see some content before the live servers. Currently we are testing a new SoF faction quest giver.

I would think a talented player could create/testbuff/and level a character to 80, while maybe adding on a couple hundred aa's in a months time if they play daily. That would easily allow you to come along on raids and get better gear.

Their are 2 main raid orgs on Test. Both used to be at the same level but one has had internal problems recently and is back doing Anguish or similar raids. The raid organization I am part of consists of a a couple of guilds. Primal Brood, Zen Cabal (my guild), and a couple of minor guilds.

During summertime test loses some people to the outdoors and won't get them back till fall, so our raid force is averaging 30-40 right now although we had 54 for the first legacy raid when we tried it.

If you are interested in our raid force, we could use DPS classes. The most desperate need are Berserkers/Rogues/Wizards....most raids currently we have 1 or 0 of those present. AoOther DPS class we could use are Beastlords...we have 3 or 4, but they are more casual raiders and we may have only 1 per raid on a given raid day. Of course, any class is welcome.
