BESOIN D'AIDE!!! NEED HELP!!!OKAY OKAY!! So this is what's going on with my life. It's almost time to apply for college (...well.. where I'm living). But I don't know (i know it's sad but...) what the name of the job is. I want to be the person who concepts the story of the game and define the characters. People tells me that it's the Game Designer, others says Director, others says Writer...
So seriously though, who's job is it?

Most of the video games don't have separate writers so the game designers cover that area too, alongside with defining the core mechancs, game world, user interface etc. If you really want to get into the game industry, don't do it expecting to get your own stories into development, that happens rarely; usually you just design what people tell you to design.

O HAI!!Game Designer would probably cover it. To move to director, it'll take you some years or some AAA games on your resumé unless you go for smaller, independant gaming companies.
