Boom Blox

I picked up Boom Blox on Friday evening and played over the weekend.  All total, I probably played it for 8 hours.  There was quite the buzz because Spielberg was involved. I've had some time to reflect and FWIW here's my opinion:

L-Word rating:  it looked fantastic in the beginning, really got me rev'ed up and then didn't miss it at all - which makes it a ?Marina

The premise of the game is very simple: you throw balls at structures and make them fall down.  There is a puzzle angle because if you figure out how to hit the structures right, you can drop them in one shot which gives you a gold medal.  Well, in the beginning, I had to/must/no question about it needed/ to get gold medals on each task before I'd move on.  It was an imperative to beat those little buggers.  After the second day, ahhh a silver is okay.  Now, I'm not quite sure why I was so head over heels about it when I began.  Granted, I haven't started "creative play" yet, but I'm in no addicted rush to move further along.  It's a decent game, but I'm no longer in the throes of early passion.  I wonder if the magic will last!  I'll play a bit more this week and see if it has staying power.

Anyone else playing this game?  Opinions?

For me it hasn't been so much a matter of addiction and since I don't like when games start to feel like work, I'm not a gold-medal hound, but I'm enjoying the game as a quick boot up & play a couple levels type distraction. The puzzles are quick and some of them are rather ingenious. It definitely has those "wow" moments where one of the mechanics really clicks and you can see what kind of possibilities something as simple as a block that vanishes when you hit it can unlock. I'm not that far in, but what I really want to see are more involved levels with more MouseTrap/Rube Goldberg-esque chain reactions. I'm hoping that if the game doesn't provide them, then the level creator will at least provide the ability for me to make my own. Is it the type of game that's going to suck away hours of my life in the blink of an eye? No. Is it a game I can see myself returning to for brief spurts over a long period of time? Yes.

Oops, I didn't see this thread and opened another one. My bad. I'll see if I can delete it.

I'm not incredibly thrilled with it either. The levels are mostly very easy and the intro to each puzzle sort of gives the solution away. I guess it really is a kids game. Currently I'm actually stuck at one level, I'm not too good with pulling blocks out in a 'gentle' manner.

I think I'll resell it a some point, I don't think it's a game I keep coming back to. Tried multi-player mode as well and it was ok.

Haven't created levels yet, but that's really not my thing to begin with. I read that you can trade them online or something?
