Calling all RPG fans

What "job/class/archetype/etc. do you relate to [or enjoy playing] the most and why?

I will start...

I usually relate to droods druids.  Cept for when I feel like conjuring fireballs, then I prefer wizards/mages....however, yes, mostly I enjoy playing a druid [or RDM in FFXI terms].

I generally relate to druids because they are self-sufficient, master of none, but jack of all trades.  I love the diversity of playing a hybrid type class.  And depending on my mood, I can fare well solo or fall into a support role in a duo or group situation.

The only exception to druids for me, is WoW.  I really hated how blizzard made druids.  My favorite rendition of a druid has to be the Vanguard druid and the druid of Everquest Online Adventures.  A druid should be a "storm caller," whether it be to call the powers of nature for healing or destruction.  Plus, storm caller just sounds pretty cool.

I like playing melee characters, especially the more survivable ones that can take a lickin' and keep on tickin'.

I don't know why, but I like to get in there and mix it up instead of stand where it's safe like a sensible person. Perhaps it's an attempt to get away from my own self and my own limitations; if my real-life self were a fantasy RPG character, I'd be a shoe-in for your typical book-learned wizard, maybe white mage (but probably not cleric), but I'd be a lousy fighter.

Well, unless I went swordmage, perhaps. Hrmm!
Duran

Hmm mostly rogues, warriors, hunters, elementals, shapeshifters or a combo of that. It mostly depends on what kinda outfit or kickass moves they have for me, he he..
Frances

Rogue/assassin all the way  Cool

I like to get in there and kick butt, hear the death gargle and still look hot with blood and sweat splattered on my leather armour.....

....hmmm did i just share to much  Razz

he he kinky I like the idea! hmm maybe that's why I choose rogues...
nekotine

i'm kinda all over the map really. n.n; and it really depends on what game i'm playing, though in generally, i usually start with either archer/ranger or thief/rogue unless one of my friends is already playing that class. i suffer from major ALTitis though so yeah... but as far as what i considered my mains to be...

Ragnarok Online
Thief/Assassin > Archer/Hunter > Acolyte/Priestess

Anarchy Online
Adventurer (probably the equivalent of a Druid since it could shapeshift)

Final Fantasy
Monk (w/ Thief subjob)

City of Heroes
Blaster(range) > Defender(healer) > Controller(kind of a Warlock/Druid mix? Mad)

City of Villains
Mastermind(Warlock w/ a lot more pets lol)

World of Warcraft
Hunter > Mage

Tabula Rasa
Specialist(could branch off into either a Ranger or Spy archetype)

Lord of the Rings Online
Minstrel (hey, my banjo skills were the BOMB! LOL)

Hellgate London
Marks(wo)man

Perfect World
Barbarian(tank)

so yeah...i'm pretty all over the map. Mad if anything, i usually try to go with something that my friends need in the team but i also enjoy playing. in general, as long as i feel i can solo to some degree on the class, i'm all good.

I like rogues too, my main on WoW is a rogue.  But now that you mentioned ranged, I am kind of a closeted ranger.  My main on AoC was ranger, my first class in WoW was hunter and my rng is 45 on FFXI, I only quit it cause of the horrible nerf.

But I still have love for druids, and can only hope that one day, some developer out there will get it right.

EQOA: 60 Druid (storm caller) 60 Necro (no tag) 40 Warrior

EQ2:70 Necro, 71 Shadow Knight, 51 Wizard, 51 Warden (druid)

FFXI: 75 SAM, 75 RDM, 64 THF, 57 DRK, 56 BRD, 46 MNK, 45 RNG, 44 NIN...bah...everything is pretty much 37+

AoC: 61 Ranger, 30 ToS (this game sucks arse, don't waste your gil...errr I mean money)

WoW: 66 Rogue, 33 Priest, 25 druid, 11 hunter

Other MMOs aren't worth mentioning really...cause my chars are lv 25 or lower.
Earrame

I like playing rogues, though I have played druids before(in DnD).

I am currently a swashbuckler. It is fun.
tsurara_mai

I'm very much a people-pleaser... so I always either end up some meatshield tank or some sort of healer.  Then I get ridiculous statistics that make it impossible for me to level alone *sulk*

But hey,  I really like the attention <3
Sami

I adore Elven Rangers... so cool in D&D 4.0 too! Smile I really like Elves to begin with though... pwetty! Smile I like the two weapon melee, but archer is awesome too!

I love to develop backstories for my characters but then we never play long enough to have my back story tie into the plot. Sad

I'm still mad at that one Succubus... even if she was hawt. Sad
lynneandlynn

I tend to like the healing classes, especially the ones that can switch from healing to tanking if need be. My main on WoW is a paladin (main-healing, offspec-tanking).  I have a caster but I get bored with her more easily than with my healer.
Kaledio_Ruby

I'm pretty much just speed/agi based.

Ragnarok Online
Thief/Assassin/Rogue, AGI Knight/Swordie

World of Warcraft
Beastmaster Spec Hunter, Shadow Priest, Unholy Death Knight

Fable 2
NO points in Physique... at all... also, I didn't want to be this huge bulky dyke in-game...
izanagi

I'm not so much of an MMORPG fan. Anyone play console RPGs like Final Fantasy or Persona? I guess Fallout also counts, but I'm more a JRPG girl.
Eden

Rogue, Cleric, and Archer for me.  I do like warriors too but not as much.

I've never played WoW and I'm not sure I'd want to.  I'd hate to end up getting addicted to it. Laughing

I'm  a huge Baldur's Gate and Fallout fangirl but I also love jrpgs.  Anyone ever played Valkyrie Profile?  I LOVE that series.
izanagi

I love Valkyrie Profile.

I know what you mean! The bulky look is just not cute.
Roz

I had a warlock for awhile, but am now fairly loyal to my fire mage in Wow - I like being strong enough to solo most of the time, though of course the mages are paperthin if they get hit. But strong from afar.
Frances

I'm going against the norm of 'rogues all the way' in my latest gaming addiction with WoW....I'm a druid, and loving it! I totally pwn those nasty hordes that think they can take me ME on lolol
Seeria

Druids, nature type classes like a ranger, followed by healers, then sometimes a wizzy type.  I generally try one healer type in each game but rarely play one in PvP games.

And I agree with the WoW druid comment, I think they screwed that one up. Vanguard and Norrath (EverQuest series) and Daoc are my favorite for good druid representations, followed by NWN.
ShadowTiger

This is a fun thread... *waves necromancer wand*

My main character type that I play as is an agility/dexterity based fighter. I really liked how in Neverwinter Nights 2 you could play as an intelligence focused swashbuckler and be able to parry all the attacks and counter attack at leisure. So yeah dodging around and hitting with less strength but being accurate and quick. I like elven fighters for this reason, also because I love the ears.

Sometimes though for variety I like to play the evil spellcaster character who shoots lightning out of fingertips. So yeah necromancers, dress in black, have skulls around them, my kind of style. Theres something awesome about not having to carry a weapon but being able to fight off whole armies... darth sidious style.
Rogue

rogues are always my first choice.  Very Happy  i like melee/dps based classes best.
lacrossegirlie

it depends for me wether im playing a game based rpg like elder scrolls or fall out vrs a table top role play. i really like being able to walk right into front of some one and shot them in the face  Twisted Evil  in video games but as far as table tops concerned i like to play characters that really end up as the DM's bitch Rolling Eyes  in the sense that i'm ok with my character geting changed from what i had orignally planned.
veggiespork

Warriors like Link or Raguna, farmers, and cute little robots that love to clean!  Very Happy

Raguna's a warrior AND a farmer.
TinGirl

In WoW my main char has always been my Rogue, though I have got a shammy and a deafknight ohh and a doodad on another server I've forgotten about.

I used to play tabletop rpg's but no-one round here is interested these days. Sad

I've still yet to play Munchkin that I got a few years ago due to no-one to play with <sob>

I prefer to be wise. That usually involves magic, but in Oblivion I became obsessed with the Daedra and did a load of research on them. I had my own little library of unique books about the Daedra and all the daedric quest items. You could call me somewhat of a bookworm.

Having said all this, in games where stealth is an option, I take it, Splinter Cell games are some of my faves.
Nimbo

I usually play a tank or something like it, cause i do not have the patience to level a mage or sorceress and keep an eye on all the new magic tricks they learn along the way, so when i finally get to the higher levels with one and i realise i leveled it wrong i'm like "fuck this, me smash stuff with mah warrior aarrgh!"
