so umm does anyone else cosplay, or even go to anime conventions?

well, when I had the money, now I am just a doll for my friend while she makes costumes.

I haven't, but from what I've heard they seem like alot of fun. A friend of mine recently went to a con in Lincoln NE, and she had a great time.

i only go to ones in texas and usualy i only go to a couple a year.

I don't cosplay, but I have been staffing at anime conventions for nearly 10 years. Otakon, mostly.

i used to cosplay quite a bit but i just don't have the time to make a good costume these days. there are a few costumes i'd love to sport still though! i've cosplayed as Shorty from Bust a Move (did both of her default outfits for 1 and 2), Lime from Saber Marionette J and Xelloss from Slayers. since it might not be too~ hard, i'd like to try to do a Toph from Avatar cosplay, even if it's not Japanese anime. if i had time, i'd really like to cosplay Souseiseki from Rozen Maiden, just so i could run around with a gigantic pair of gilded gardening scissors. XD

as for cons, been attending Fanime Con in the SF bay area since 97, went to Anime Expo from 98 to 2000, went to Anime Central in 2000 and went to AKon in 2000 as well. I DJ'd for the Fanime dance a few years and this year, i might be involved with the yuri panel and showing rooms. gotta spread the yuri. :3

umm well i have cosplayed lavi from lastexile, someone with a purple cloke, deatrik from trinity blood, gothic lolitas, the pink haired girl from bleach, and a couple i cant remmber. i mostly go to anime fest and akon but this year i might go to all con and ikki con maybe. hope to see yall at a con maybe.

I've been to Otakon since 2004. Don't cosplay but I sometimes wear a pretty cute school girl outfit. Very Happy I love sexy cosplay costumes. Mmm,,, seeing my favorite characters come to life is awesome! And usually cosplayers don't mind hugs! *squee*

Hiya! Yes I cosplay! I haven't been to a con in forever though..I plan to try to get to the con in Houston this year...My fiance wants to do...Hayabusa and Kasumi...I would be kasumi..or Nero and Gloria from DMC4

i just went to my first anime convention this year and i loved it! i wish i had went for the whole day (i had to take SATs that morning) and that i brought more money with me! i'm not sure if i could do cosplay though (though it was cool to see other people dressing up), i'm don't have to patience to make my own costume espcially to such detail as some of the costumes at the convention i went to.

what con was it? i know my sis was at 1 but i didnt get to go cause she called me to ask me ta go but got my answering machine and my answering machine is in spanish so she thought she had the wrong number.

it was at a college, do you know where rpi is (rensselaer polytechnic institute)? the anime convention was called genericon.

Cosplay is basically making a costume and dressing up as an anime/video game/etc character.

Ken (Weiss Kreuz)
Nicholas D. Wolfwood (Trigun)
The Prince (Katamari Damacy)
Megaman (NES)

I wanted to go cosplay as Protoman this year, but dunno if I'll have time... Sad

Another option was Tifa from Advent Children, but my hair hasn't grown enough since I cut it for my megaman costume last year lol

If you guys are looking for a great cosplay conventions. Look into Dragon Con in Atlanta, GA. Takes place over Labor day weekend. covers sci-fi, fantasy and anime..along with everything else under the sun.

I would cosplay, but I wouldn't ever want to do it as any certain character. (The avatar picture is me, and I don't think I look enough like any character to pull off masquerading as them.)  Instead, I think it would be fun to dress as a generic red, black or white mage, or some other character class from the older final fantasies.  =P  Then I'd just be... Me!  As a Final Fantasy character.

I'm going to be Near from Death Note for JAFAX tomorrow. Although I'm not looking forward to going because my ex's girlfriend is going to attempt to beat me up. XD Wish me luck.
