Franchises/games youŽd like to see revived

...or single-title games youŽd like to see a sequel to. In short, what are the games that you wish to see return to the console world.

Me, my number one title is Tomb Raider. Now, while that isnŽt a cancelled franchise, the character (and to an extent, gameplay) that I fell in love with has been scrapped by Crystal Dynamics, and while the new games are fun, the character and cutscenes make me cringe, so IŽd like for the Classic franchise to return.

Fear Effect Inferno is the game IŽm most sad to see cancelled. If the series returns IŽd like for the planned Hana/Glas/Rain love triangle to be scrapped entirely, I do not want to see Hana and Rain splitting up. And IŽd also like for the sexuality aspect to be handled differently, the lecherous banter and the cheesy music playing during the steamy scenes in Retro Helix just made the game feel like a parody of softporn movies, I donŽt mind fanservice in games, I just think FE did it in a laughable fashion. A "Hot Chinese Tea" minigame in the vein of "Vagina Hero" could be fun though.  Wink

"WET"  was a game I was sad to see cancelled, granted I know little to nothing about the game, but the trailer had me giddy with excitement. And with the game back in development thereŽs always the chance of seeing Rubi bare it all in the next Playboy Girls of Gaming spread.  Twisted Evil

The "Oddworld" games are among my favorite games, so the franchises cancellation hit me hard. Some months ago it was announced that the developer would return to the gaming world, but a return of the Oddworld franchise has yet to be officially confirmed (to my knowledge anyway).

As for games IŽd like to see a sequel to; "R: Racing Evolution" was a racing game I rather enjoyed despite its poor reviews, the storymode was too short in my opinion, and the ending/level disappointing, but I thought the game had much potential, and IŽd love to see a sequel to it (and besides, Gina Cavalli is pretty hot!)

"G-Police" and its sequel "Weapons of Justice" are among my favorite PS1-era games (IŽve never completed the first game though), and the thought of flying around the Blade Runner-esque city with current-gen graphics has me drooling, definitely a game IŽd love to get a sequel to.

"Cy Girls" for the PS2 was a game I thought was flawed, but rather enjoyable (at least the Ice half of it), the ending credits promised a sequel, but it was never made due to licensing problems, so IŽm still hoping for a sequel. Oh, and Crystal Dynamics should take a cue from the gunplay mechanics of the game, why shouldnŽt Lara be able to shoot from cover, or fire while lying on the ground?

"Evil Zone" was the closest IŽve come to feeling like I was starring in my own anime, and IŽd love to see a sequel to that game (they really have to work on the lipsyncing though).

Well, IŽll probably think of more games IŽd like to see continued after IŽve posted this, but these were the ones I could list for now.

Did they really cancel WET? That would suck if they did, and Amazon.com still has preorders available...

What I would love to more of are the Golden Sun games. I loved the first two and when I found out that there wouldn't be a 3rd released in the US I died a little...

We had R: Racing Revolution at my job for $1.04, what a shame. I kinda want to check it our now.....

Shenmue is definitely a cancelled title that should be bought back. I don't care if they put it on the DS, just complete the dan  saga that was suppose to go on for 16 chapters.

I knew IŽd remember more titles...P.N.03 was a GameCube title that was much too short, but which I thought was fun while it lasted, and had potential for a better game, so I wouldnŽt mind seeing the game given another go.

Parasite Eve. IŽve never played the first one as it was never released in Europe (PE2 was, for some reason), but I had fun with the second one, and would like to see a third game. IŽve never been able to complete the second game though, so I donŽt know if the ending allows for a third game to happen.

WET got cancelled along with a bunch of other titles due to budget issues, but I do hope it gets picked up by another publisher.

parasite eve.
i loved the first game.
shame they never actually released the damn thing in europe.
and was aya hot or what, and that shower scene in the sequel Twisted Evil
apparently there was a rumour that madonna wanted to make a movie version.
anyway, i'd love to see a new version for the current machines.
with gameplay more like the original.
there aren't many games that i'll play through again after finishing once but parasite eve was one of them.

I never played Oregon Trail. I was too busy shooting crazy aliens in Commander Keen. Which we need more of. Commander Keen kicked butt.

I know. Not to mention there will never be another game where your spaceship is built out of your mom's vacuum cleaner, a joystick, and a discarded bottle of booze.

God Hand? The Game that came out a year ago by Capcom? I heard it was corny, but incredibly cool.

Well, Clover... which was a subsidiary of Capcom before dying for your sins.

I don't think it ever came out on any consoles, but the Vampire Bloodlines universe definitely has room for more gaming.  Can't go wrong in a game where you get to play as a vampire eh?
