Games with lesbian content/characters/roleplay optionsHi there,i just came up with the idea of creating a little list of games that feature "lesbian content" in any way. The ones that i know of myself are the following: - "The Sims 2" for obvious reasons (i never played Sims 1) - "Jade Empire" If you play a female character, you can hit on the princess and have a romance with her 
- "Mass Effect" should offer a similar choice, according to press coverage. - "Clive Barker's Jericho" features a playable lesbian Character called "Black". It's a team-based shooter where you battle gruesome monsters. The teammates constantly chatter during the game and some funny conversations come up about the subject from time to time. I'm playing it right now and haven't finished it yet so i have no idea how the characters evolve in later stages of the game. - "Fear Effect 2" The female protagonists of this PS2-Game, Hannah and Rain could (and have been) interpreted as being lovers. I did play the game and liked it very much, because of it's mature charcaters and great gameplay. It's very sad, that the 3rd part got cancelled. Well, that's all from me. I'm sure i missed some games, but i guess not too much. I would be happy to be proven wrong though

Well in the first Fable game, you can get married to another man. If you flirt with both males and females it will label you as bisexual, and gay if only men. But sadly you cannot play a female character.
It is hard to play a lesbian, since most games have males as main characters. I shall change that one day! I promise! |

fablesweet i like fable from what i have played....but now that i know there is some gayness...i am def gonna hit up at best buy....new copy of the lost years is only $9.99. and i had no idea fable 2 was in the works! sweet! i def wish there were more lesbian characters in games....i i some times just pretend the chicks are gay...and i know they have a CSI game but i am soo waiting for a Law and order game with olivia!!um i am blocking on the games name...and i shouldl know it since i loved it....it was Larry something.....on a college campus.....and i know one of the chicks he trys to get with or something comes out with a strap on so that was pretty cool. and not that this is a lesbian game but in the bmx xxx unrated version you could make your female character ride around topless....and when you picked up hookers there skirts would fly up and you unlocked female strip shows.... but yes some more classy lesbian games would rock!! and it would be som much better created by lesbians then men..... |

I always enjoyed playing The Sims cause I could make two females.
I think that you could have a relationship with a woman in KOTOR. I never got too far in the game, but of course I made my character a female. I wanted to play Fear Effect 2, but I've never been able to find it anywhere. I heard that there isn't too much lesbian content in the game. That it was just kind of a marketing thing. |

Pretty much any Sims game where you could have a relationship, you could have lesbians. Haha XD I remember reading a commentary from the creators once, saying something about how they would put gay marriage in there if it weren't such a huge issue. Y'know? So, yeah, smart move on their part I guess.
I also heard about Fable 2. I don't usually play all those realistic looking games (I like colorful fantasy stuff, meep) but I am willing to venture a bit out of my comfort zone... I know there are a few Japanese games that allow some form of lesby relationship, but your player's moves and such are very limited anyway. XP And usually those kinds of games are targetted at males. (duh) I'd really like to see a nicely developed game (as in, cute *shot*) that let's you choose what your character is into. <3 |

Yeah, that would be cool. I know I've tried a couple Japanese dating sim games, but I don't like it cause you have to be a male. There are some flash games too like that, but again, you're a male in them. *sigh* |

I think it's one of the reasons that The Sims is so engaging for a lot of lesbian users. You can recreate your own life or the life you imagine and it allows you to. I think it's all about choice, why don't more developers allow us that kind of personal freedom? It would be great to firstly get to play a female in all games by choice and then to choose their sexuality would be fantastic. | ||||||

My partner populates her Sims neighborhoods only with women, nowadays.
I prefer RPGs and Diablo II with the Lord of Destruction expansion. It really bothers me that in a lot of RPGs, unless you play a male character, many of the story line choices aren't available to you, and often the romances aren't either (or there are alternate romances for the female characters that often have no benefit or are actually detrimental), when it would be so easy to just let it be a lesbian romance! Jude EDIT: I meant to write "Sims" not "Sins"--fixed.

Actually, there have been quite a few games from Japan over the recent years that feature a female lead, if not an all female cast, that are yuri or lesbian in nature, due to the growing popularity of yuri anime and manga. The prime example I think of first is Sapphism no Gensou (original JP site), where you play a female lead that helps to solve a mystery upon the HUGE, city sized boat the cast lives upon. Yes, it is an ero-game so you get to *ahem* 'play' with the other girls as the lead. Same with Akai Ito and Aoi Shiro from Success. These aren't really dating sims as much as 'visual novels'. Think more like a Choose Your Own Adventure book and having like 3-4 endings you can end up with. More recent and popular yuri anime-to-game releases would be ones from Mai-HiME/Otome, Simoun, Strawberry Panic and Kashimashi. As far as stuff released here, Xenosaga (if you like subtext lesbianism), Rule of Rose (so I've heard), Fatal Frame 2 (again, fairly subtexty in that 'my twin sister is awfully clingy' kind of way), Fear Effect 2... Some RPG games will allow you to play a female lead and pursue a lesbian relationship, like Fallout and I think Jade Empire... That's all I can think of off the top of my head for stuff that hasn't been mentioned yet. |

Ya know I have this and I haven't played it enough to check that out yet. I'm thinking possibly yes you can. I started off with two females so assume that in their 'social' side they get to hook up. I'll have a look into it and see what happens. |

KOTOR has a lesbian character, but Lucas Arts made Bioware take most of the gay dialog and content out. Supposedly they were afraid the game wouldn't be able to keep its teen rating if a lesbian relationship was available. There's still a hint of gay and a little flirting, but most of the content was removed. KOTOR 2 has a female character that falls in love with you no matter what your gender is. |

Fallout had lesbian content ?!? I never played any of the two Fallout games. I didnt like them back when they were released. Can't wait for Fallout 3 though. Jade Empire had a nice lesbian romance

Ha! Fallout 2 was the first game i ever played that had lesbian conent, and still is one of my faveroute games of all time. I have mixed feelings about Fallout 3, on one hand im excited to be able to play something fallout related thats NEW, but on the other im scared they arnt going to do it right, or have it keep the dark edge it had |

Kashimashi Girl meets Girl the game??? Awesome! I love the wedding scene at the end of the show and it only got a teen rating, so there might be something for the younger girls to boot (When i was a teen i hated how the only non-adult lesbian anything was Ellen and the Sims). Please note nekotine, Yuri is lesbian porn, Shoujo-ai (like kashimashi) is lesbian romance sans the sex (I prefer Shoujo-ai). Side note the second series of Sailor Moon that never made it to TV included a lesbian couple who both were sailors, so I recommend all fans here of this series to revisit it (I'm told 5 has Transgender content too). On the other side of things, to me Rikku from Final Fantasy X & X-2 seemed to want to be more than just cousins with Yuna. Plus as an added bonus, the entire team you control in X-2 is female made up of a Butch (Paine) and two lipsticks (Yuna & Rikku). Anyway thats my 2 cents. Jessica |

IIRC, while Sailor Moon S (season 3) and Super S (season 4) never aired on TV, they were released on DVD with no editing or episodes cut out. Sailor Stars (season 5) does feature female senshi (soldiers) that would henshin (transform) into men as their civilian alter-egos. ...why? No one is sure really. In the original manga, they merely crossdressed but hey...whatever works? n.n; In any case, it has not and likely never will be released in English.

Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines has a lot of lesbian content.
You can seduce/flirt with a lot of female NPC's as a female character. There is even a sex scene, nothing visual as it fades out, but you can hear it. You can even pick up a lot of female prostitutes (for blood) who will sometimes say "Ooh I don't get much of a chance to do women" so give you a cheaper price, heh. |

If you're extremely nice to Juhani (the cat-like female), haven't romanced Carth, and also a light-side character, there's a very revealing conversation almost at the end of the game. I know she expresses quite a bit of interest in you as more than a friend but I don't remember the exact conversation; it's been too long since I played the game. Not sure if it works the same with a male character, but who really cares lol. |

I think you have to be female to flirt with Juhani. I remember there was something in there about her having been in love with another female Jedi during/before the war. It's been like forever since I played the game though. | ||||||

If you kill Juhani the female jedi from the temple will go all crazy and try to kill you sometime later. I think she said something about the nights she and Juhani used to spend under the stars (or something like that) |

Norwegian adventure game The Longest Journey has a lesbian couple (Fiona and Mickey) on it, and although you never meet Mickey, you can still talk about their relationship with Fiona for several occassions.
I really love it that their relationship is potrayed as a completely normal thing and part of the game world, it's not there just to entertain teenage boys. This is what we need more. |

handmaiden and visas - kotor 2 Liara and the consort -mass effect silkfox and dawnstar - jad empire final fantasy x2. if you 100% three unlocable scenes hint at rikku being Bisexual. and Paine being a lesbian. fable 2 will be great. not only can you be gay or lesbian.. you can get pregnant, have sti's, and invite others into your game... with the risk of them killing your whole family

Sims 2, like what everybody already said.
And likely nobody else has heard of this: Rival Schools: Evolution 2 (Wiki says it's only released in Japan, but we got it in Hong Kong, anyway). It's only in Japanese, but you can date girls as a girl in the dating bit of the game. Really surprised me there.
You can also download all the Japanese-dubbed, English-subtitled episodes from Veoh! No censorship, and IMO, better voice-acting.

They are indeed... I guess bioware or just gay friendly. Although a dislike what they did in Mass effect. In the other games you could play as a gay man too, in mass effect you could only have a gay relationship if you were a woman AND only with an alien, not with Ashley even though she was available if you were a male character. I think they covered their own tracks by making liara and the consort’s race able to REPRODUCE with anyone. So the relationship could be argued that it wasn’t gay at all but in order to reproduce. |

Also Vampire Bloodlines: The Masquerade if you played as a female you could still use "seduce" on other females, and you still got your female ghoul. (which it just occurred to me might not have a console version. :-\ )
And if you do PC gaming, there are sometimes user created Mods that you can DL. For example, this that unlocks the Bastila romance for your Female player character. (But that link also has storyline spoilers if you are one of the few people who hasn't played that game yet.) And KOTOR 2 wasn't a Bioware game. |
