gamestop training video sexist and...?is the new gamestop training video really sexist and degrading to women? i 'say' no it's not. the video got it right. i've actually seen that scene occur when i was at gamestop getting my free posters off their window. i detest that p.o.s store and get my games very much in advanced from a good source or from walmart on its street date and nowhere else. i only use gamestop as a source for free posters by bullsh*tting the utterly asinine employees. I wear t-shirts that have stuff written on 'em and says "dude" alot, what would the gamestop staff do, implode because they cannot grasp the idea of a girl gamer? I cannot believe someone actually thought that was a good idea.. oh yeah, and it made me laugh... alot. |

I worked for GameStop until recently. The only women who ever came in in the year and a half I worked there were the mothers of the kids there. Or girlfriends who came in on the arms of their boyfriends.
I think that it is fair to say that women aren't a huge piece of the demographic of hardcore gamers. Although I also think EVERYONE likes video games. But it is just now that video games are becoming very mainstream. But you know who really needs to know more about video games? GameStop corporate. They don't know anything and it shows. My bitch of a District Manager, Carmen, didn't know a thing about games. It was hilarious watching her tell people who were buying some sport game to reserve a pc RTS game. I was so glad when her ass got arrested due to a scandle involving the district she was moved to. Her mug shot is hilarious. |

Not only did I laugh my ass off at their horrible assembly of this video, but the mere idea that they decided to MAKE A TRAINING VIDEO on how to interact with female customers is just asinine! Though, I have to admit the silly narrator girl was just pure comedy gold. |

All GameStop training videos are terrible now that I think about it.
Once we had a big meeting were several of the local stores met and watched videos. We laughed our asses off at all of them. |

it happens but its still a sterotype. i worked at a gamestop before enlisting in the marine corps (and ended up being OUTED stupid -name withheld- and everyone i worked with (excluding holiday temps) was totally cool. except my assitant store manager who was really a total douche and though i should date him. (variation of a gay girl just needs dick, which if it happens is gunna be SILICONE jack ass!  ) i got it more from customers than anyone who worked at a gamestop. had some douchebags at play n trade do shit like that but it maybe because they knew i worked at gamestop.

Luckily my local gamestop folks are freaking awesome. They are gamers, and enjoy gaming. They don't give a crap who comes in the door...they're there to talk games and sell em. |
