Lucypants Yes, although I haven't played it for a while now. My girlfriend got me into it, it's a really good game. I'm a Necro/Monk, I think. Oh and a MM. How are you finding it? I currently belong to a guild called Girl Power--it has a mainly lesbian membership. At one time, we hosted the Girl Power Hours on Sunday afternoons. Unfortunately, the membership isn't all that active anymore. There are a few of us that still sign on regularly, but the rest are playing other things until GW2 comes along. So if you're looking for a guild that's active, I'm afraid we're not it. Some of the gals have been gaming together for a while, though, so I suspect the guild will be reborn when the GW2 beta finally arrives. I've been focussing on vanquishing, but since I H/H most of the time and play multiple chars, it's slow going, so I have no idea when (if) I'll achieve I'm very Important with her. To be honest, I don't remember any of the IGNs in the party, just that I had a great time with a good bunch of people. I think I did that with Lauren, not Erin. Both Lauren and Erin have the last name Swiftfoot (all my rangers do--I'm ranger happy!). If there are any mesmers here (my favourite profession!), a bunch of us meet in War Camp International at 4 pm EST (every Saturday) to do all-mesmer events. We've been meeting for over 2 years now, and are always happy to welcome new faces. Don't worry if you haven't capped every elite out there, or haven't dusted your mesmer off for a while - we're pretty laid back (for the most part), and the point is to have fun. For those who like pets, the Zoo Crew is a group that meets every Saturday afternoon at 1pm EST. We meet in Lion's Arch International District 1, near the lion statue. To come along with us, you must bring a pet. Not a minipet--a ranger pet! If you've never been in a party with 8 pets (12 if we're doing something elite), you're missing quite the experience (and the noise!). I'm confused (not unusual) I checked out the Guild Wars website (seeing as so many of you seem to be playing it, thought i might give it a go). Theres like 4 different options (campaigns?). Which one do you go for? Are Eye of the North, Nightfall and Factions just add-ons to enhance Guild Wars? If you buy one can you still chat with people playing on another. Ack, I'm sooo lost (noob alert). Vickie I think most of us have all campaigns and expansions (at least I do); but you can buy each of the campaigns separately as they're stand-alone games -- you'll just have less campaign-specific skills. Eye of the North is an expansion so you'll need to already have at least one campaign (Prophecies, Factions or Nightfall) and at least one level 10 character in order to access it. Oh also, the characters look rather different for each campaign. Prophecies = Caucasian Factions = Asian Nightfall = African Personally, I enjoyed all the campaigns so it's completely up to you. [EDIT] You can chat with anyone from anywhere even if you only have one, so don't worry about that. Also, if you're into PVP, you should really get every single campaign. Sora I own all 3 campaigns and the expansion Eye of the North as well but you only need one campaign to be able to play. As for which campaign is best... For a new player I suppose I'd recommend Nightfall (because you're given heroes), though most say the story is best in Prophecies. I'd probably suggest Nightfall, for the same reasons Sora did. Alternatively, if you can get Prophecies cheap, you may want to go for that. Frances, I have a couple of trial keys for Nightfall. Once you create an account and apply the key, you'll be able to play for 10 hours or 14 days, whichever comes first. You'll have to download the client from the Guild Wars site. If you'd like a trial key, message me and I'll send you one. TLC DEMON i only play nightfall (i only had enough money for 1) and the guy and best buy said it was easiest so i got it. i really like nightfall i dont know about anyother games. and its really easy. I actually like Prophecies' characters best (4 out of my 5 PVE characters are from Prophecies -- and the other non-Prophecies character is a Ritualist, which we can only create in Factions); but Prophecies is loooooong so I agree with the others, Nightfall is probably the easiest since you get heroes, too. Factions... let's just say Factions isn't very Warrior- or Assassin-friendly. I didn't know there were so many GW players here. I actually participated in one of those Girl Power events a couple years ago or so. We did FoW and it was awesome. It was the first time I'd been in FoW and the folks there were so friendly. My guild isn't really active now either, and I haven't been super active for months now. I hope to get back into GW - I think one of the reasons I quit is because I don't like playing with strangers and none of my friends ever stuck with the game... plus I'm a bad pack rat finding it hard to sell stuff so ran out of space. I have a lot of low level chars because I kept starting anew with various friends, but I have 4 level 20s, Ranger/Monk, Warrior/Monk and Monk/Ele in Prophecies and an Assassin/Monk in Factions. The W/M I took into GW:EN but didn't finish. I prefer PvE but PvP is fun once in awhile. Anyways, I'm in -8:00 Pacific timezone - do any of you have a typical time that you play?
