Okay so you see in my world geography class there are a gay guy, 3 bisexuals, and me (a lesbian) we get alot of shit from the other people in the class. For example yesterday we were called "fucking dumb atheists" "dykes" and the teacher hears everything and doesnt say a thing, in fact there are 2 teachers in there and they both say nothing to the (im ganna call them the shit heads) to the shit heads. but if we even say that a girl is hot or anything along those lines the teacher yells at us. so lately we have been making jokes about how there preps and christian bigots, and today all 5 of us got sent to the office for calling one of them a "stupid mexican" im not racist and we didnt even say that the kid just said that we did and we get sent to the office and now we all got tickets, and are going to be in ISS. and this was after the kid that said we were calling him a stupid mexican flipped us off told us to go eat cunt (to me and my friends) or dick (to the gay guy) and the teacher looked at him and just said "jose watch your language" these kids sit there and harras me and ask me if i watch porn, when any of us say something they make comments like "go eat some cunt you stupid ass dyke" or "why dont you go get it up the ass" i dont know what to do cause i dont want my parents to find out im gay, and im scared that if i say something to the officer or the counsiler or anything they will find out. my parents dont know that i might be getting a ticket cause it deppends on if the kid presses charges, and if the teacher herd it, we may not even get iss but still i think that it is dumb shit that we got writen up for something we didnt even do, but the teacher even hears them say these things to us and she never says a word to them. SpankzPimpJuice geez thatz crazy.. .  well tell u what.. . you should tape record what tha class harass then take a copy to tha principle and tell him or her that they better fix tha matter.. . before the school board finds out about tha issue.. . that u would take tha issue to court.. . that should be a big enough scare 4 them to get to tha situation.. . discrimination period is against the law.. . tho it do Xsist in our daily livez TLC DEMON in our school students dont get in trouble (unless the teacher doesnt like them) when the teacher doesnt hear them. Sora The problem with reporting the teachers or students like that would mean the parents could possibly be informed... The teacher's obviously discriminating but there's not much to do other than report her...or beat her silly. Both of which probably won't end well lol... Lucypants It's a tough one because to take action potentially your parents may be told. I think justice needs to happen though and it's not fair they are getting away with it. If you feel ready you could tell your parents and then explain that you are getting bullied for your preference. That's completly up to you, if you're not ready than that's understandable. You could go ahead and tell someone higher in the school but there's still that risk of your parents being informed. Doing nothing obviously isn't helping so perhaps try having a word with your teacher in private. Explain you do not care for their comments and that you feel she/he should be doing something about it. If it still happens, think about taking it to someone else. TLC DEMON Well i havnt gotten a ticket cause the dumb kid that reported me and my friends did not press charges and we all were given lunch d-hall. i just dont get it and we have decided just to live with it i mean its not like its the end of the world and if we show that it bothers us then the homophobs will think that they won. there are worse things in the world that could happen than being bullied. and i know that i am happier than they are because i am not afraid to be myself. Straight boys call other straight boys "fag" all the time. It's not okay, and with all the school shootings in the recent years .. it's suing material. You could report it, tell your parents. ... make a big deal out of it.. because the slurs they are using don't "OUT" you. . I would say to a school official, "I'm being harassed with these words, and you know about it, aren't doing anything about, and I'd hate for someone who knows more about abuse in schools to HAVE to do something about it." I mean.. you can tell people that you're being harassed without being outed. I was called a dyke before I even knew I was one. It's a slur they use on the nonconformist. If you were straight.. you'd fight back, because those slurs are wrong and offensive. I'm just saying there's more than the angle of "I'm queer, and this is wrong" There's the angle "This is wrong, regardless". You shouldn't stick your neck out if it's only going to be painful, but the pursuit of justice can be very rewarding, and you don't deserve any misery. "kill your enemies with love" is what i always say. i know it sounds weird but i realized somthin over this week, a human is a human no matter how mean or cruel they are, and i think i should treat the homophobs how i would want to be treated. and maybe they will see that christianity has mistakes in it just like everything in the world. This isnt 1908, we should be moving forward by now. I would advise talking to the principal, If he should be a dickhead also, I should try talking to the education board about the neglection of diversity laws. I would probably then move schools, although the cowardly approach and I doubt that in the USA that it would be much different where-ever you went too school. I am sorry to hear of your troubles and do hope that you may be able to sort something out soon... Keep us posted. Taping comments seems like a good idea, also keeping a diary of what happens and when can help any case. Thal I definitely agree that you should report your teacher.  There's no excuse for that and doing anything else will just get you in trouble and not help your situation at all. It's really sad that things like this go on in our schools.  No wonder our kids have so many emotional problems. I don't pay attention to the news.  Most of the time it's just depressing.  When I read what this "public official" stated to other "elected" officials... Light.Shard Man, that's really lame.  I dealt with the same kind of thing at my school, but for me, it was a lot different.  My parents already knew about my sexual orientation and I had someone else I could move in with, meaning I could go to a different school and make a fresh start. So essentially I ran away from my problems like a yellow-bellied sissy and don't regret it for a second.
