Help me out and have your say!Hi everyone
I am a games journalist and I am writing an article on games and their political in/correctness. If anyone could take a couple of minutes to answer my questions I would be very grateful.
1. When you are gaming, do you notice the level of political in/correctness? i.e. too many straight caucasians, black people portrayed in a certain way...
2. If so, how does this affect your opinion of the game?
3. What do you feel could be done to improve this?
4. If you don't mind telling me, are you a part of a minority group yourself (apart from the obvious!)?

no, and i don't bother either. games will continue to be made the way they are due to the majority of buyers lie in that bracket. Arguing against it is futile, since the industry is all about profit. for example sure you could put a statistic up that lesbians etc are becoming more frequent, but reflect that against how many are being put in games that are marketed to huge audiences and that statistic would drop to zilch.
i really couldnt care since activist lesbians really annoy me and i hate associating myself with that side of our culture.

n/a since i dont really care.

it would be nice to have more female characters in games, but seriously doesn't bother me.

no. white/australian.

2. It lowers my opinion of the game overall.
3. There's nothing really I feel that I can do. It's up to game companies to decide what type of content they want to put in their games. Certainly if they got enough negative emails from gamers, they would possibly do something, but I'm only one person.
4. No, aside from being a lesbian, unless you count Atheists as a minority.
I don't mind if you want to mention my comments or anything like that. Just happy to help. ^^
