Does anyone know of a way to home brew alcoholic ginger beer without having to buy a pre-packed home brew kit? All the recipes I seem to find online are for non-alcoholic versions. Just looking for a little side project to keep occupied and hopefully it'll be more cost effective than paying $18 for a 6-pack here.

thanks so much, hopefully it won't make a difference if i store them in beer bottles, little afraid of the exploding nature of all that built up CO2 Smile

Ginger beer sounds good. I'm going to have to try this.

A friend of mine introduced me to an alcoholic ginger beer and now I'm just in a ginger beer state of mind. Got sick of pre-mixes after too many nights at the clubs and I'm not a fan of beer, so I think its a great compromise!

i started brewing ginger beer / ale when i got home from the us. but the first recipe i tried was awful. maybe we can try different online recipes and compare?

i think ill brew some more tomorrow... on a new recipe.

you can make some without the full on yeast addition. brews about 0.5% just in a coke bottle.
