Horror movie suggestions

Anybody know any good horror movies? My roomates' nieces have gotten in the mood to freak themselves out.  One of them has already gotten through the first two Nightmare on Elm Street movies.  I was hoping to get a running list of some the best movies to watch

I love horrors. You definately have to go for Hellraiser. Pinhead (the main character below) is sure to freak them out. I think there's about 3 or 4 sequels.

CardinalX

I think they´re at movie number 8 now actually. As for me, movies that scare me include the first Exorcist, and the Japanese movies The Ring, Dark Water and Ju-On. All three have been remade by Hollywood, but none of the remakes scared me.
Maz

I enjoyed The Feast and Halloween ( the Rob Zombie remake).
For psychological thrillers, i think Se7en, The Cube.
The Saw franchise wasn't too bad, something along the lines of Se7en, i kept watching the series because i wanted to know the whole storyline, it was quite addictive for me.

I'm actually quite a wuss when it comes to horror movies, so the ones i like might not be as scary as others.

hmm it depends what kind of horror films you're looking for, im all for the cheesy classics like evil dead, and  the hammer horror films,  you cant go wrong with them =]
and i saw a good film last night called frontiers, its a french horror more along the lines of saw and hostel, it was so very very cringey  Shocked

If you like old scary stuff, I'd recommend Evil Dead. It's from 1979, looks cheesy but watch it in the dark, I guarantee a scream or two. Smile

If you like vampire stuff, 30 days of night is good.

Also on the freeking side, The Children, an english movie with Rachel Shelley from the L word.

I'm not big on horror movies, but I really liked High Tension. Oh, and like CardinalX mentioned, Ju-On is a good one too, The Grudge is a remake of it.

Troll 2 is one of the best horror movies out there.

*Killed*

Seriously, though, I am more into old horror movies. No, I am not going to say Psycho. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde with Spencer Tracy and Ingrid Bergman is a good one. It's more creepy than scary. Peeping Tom, Rosemary's Baby, yada yada yada.

Hard Candy is disturbing. It's with the girl from Juno. Razz

Yeah, never mind. I'm not good with horror. Only twisted, disturbing, and creepy.

I haven't seen it but "Teeth" sounds interesting.

One of my top favorite movies! I wouldn't say it's horror though.. It's more funny than anything else. You'll get laughs out of it.

If you want to get some horror that would freak you out, watch the original Japanese horror films. Like the original Grudge and One Missed Call.. They also have an original of that one movie.. The Uninvited. I think it's Korean though, I heard it was really scary. It's called "Tale of Two Sisters". Don't know if your room mates like watching subbed, but once you start the movie you'll forget that it's even in a different language.

Hard Candy <3

And yeah, I'm more of a twisted, disturbing, and creepy movie fan too. Haha. I like a lot of psychological input and symbolism in my movies.

I'd recommend Dead Snow to anyone who likes zombie films. For normal horror I love Switchblade Romance but that's probably because the lead actress is rather nice Smile

Both are foreign films so you've gotta put up with subtitles but they're well worth it imho.

I just saw Blindness (picked it up cause its got Gael Garcia Bernal in it <@3). Dont think id call it a horror so much, maybe plagues go under thriller? Anyway, def worth seeing, awesome cinematoraphy.
Babycha

Trick 'r Treat. Saw this movie today, and it is awesome.
