Design your perfect videogameAs I was relaxing on my bed, I got to think; if I got the chance to create my ideal videogame, what would it be like? So I begun thinking of what my favorite genres and characters were, why they were my favorite genres and characters, and how I´d incorporate my favorite aspects of some of my favorite games into one perfect videogame. And since it´s unlikely that I´ll ever actually get to make my perfect game, I´m just gonna post my pitches here, and encourage you to post your own.
My pitch first; The genre I play the most is the third-person action(adventure)genre, that just seems to be the genre that appeals to me the most. Apart from the Tomb Raider games, two of my favorite games in the genre are Cy Girls and Oni, not just because of gameplay, but because they have cyberspace settings and some intriguing concepts. So I guess my ideal game would be a third-person actiongame set in a cyberspace future (or a Tomb Raider game, but more about that later). The main character in my game would be very similar to Ice from Cy Girls, as I rather like the concept of a gunslinging cyberthief, my game would need better controls for the gunplay though, as I often found myself pulling off Ice´s stylish moves more through accident than intent. Cy Girls lacked some fighting moves though, sure you could fight hand-to-hand combat in the cyberspace sections, but you could only fight the guards by shooting them, I´d like to have the option of doing some fighting, like, say, if the opponents are capable of disarming me with a wellplaced kick, so that I´ll have to fight them by hand until I can retrieve my guns. I rather liked the finishing manuevers in Death By Degrees, and would like to be able to pull off stylish kills like that, perhaps with a slow-mo effect for the killing blow like in Ghost in the Shell game for the PS2 (just not with every finishing blow like it was in that game, that became repetitive fast). Other than that my game would play much like Ice´s half of Cy Girls, when you entered cyberspace though it won´t simply be a virtual copy of the current level like in Cy Girls, the cyberspace sections will be designed more like actual rooms, to be more inviting for the user (as I imagine cyberspace, if it ever becomes reality, will be designed more like stores and lounges you can interact with, instead of user interfaces like computer programs), but you have different enemies to look out for in the forms of anti-hacker programs patrolling or hidden in the rooms, and inside cyberspace you won´t have access to your guns, so this part of the game will very much be a stealth section, where your fighting moves come in handy. I haven´t really thought of a plot for the game though, but since I normally dislike games or movies where you play as a criminal (it conflicts with my personal morals when you´re asked to root for a criminal or think like one) I´d have this future world be one where the world is divided into rich people and slums, no middle ground, and the main character grew up in a slum, and now steals/destroys data for her clients, using the money to ensure she´ll never be going back to the slums.
I don´t often play racing games, but I´m addicted to (most of) the Ridge Racer titles, RR6 is probably the 360 game I´ve played the most, so my ideal racing game would play virtually like a RR title. However, R:Racing Evolution had some features that I rather liked, namely the inclusion of main characters and story cutscenes (and fanservice, can´t forget about the fanservice!), which gave you a sense of purpose and made you want to keep playing, to see how things evolved. The fact that you could make competing drivers fall off course by driving close to them until their "pressure bar" was filled also added to my enjoyment of the game. R:Racing Evolution didn´t have the same sense of speed or overall funfactor of the RR series, so my ideal racing game would be an RR-style game with the R:Racing girls as selectable characters and a storymode for each character (and fanservice!).
Tomb Raider II is my favorite game, and most of the other TR games are in my overall top ten, but I feel the series overall has some faults and could use some extra features, so my ideal TR game (and by extent, my possibly new favorite game) would feature Classic Lara and play largely like the old games, but incorporate fighting moves (like in my earlier pitch) as well as a more evolved story, the old TR games didn´t really have much story besides cutscenes of Lara finding a clue as to where to go next, some story development and scenes of Lara interacting with others would be nice, we didn´t really get that until Last Revelation. The gunfights would be like Cy Girls, with Lara being able to shoot from any angle or position (Ice can fire while she´s been knocked down by an enemy, why does Lara need to get on her feet before she can get back in the fight?) and pull off various stylish moves like Ice or Rubi from WET (save for the wallrunning ability, I don´t want Lara to defy gravity more than she already does), as well as being able to take cover and fire from there (again like Ice, or like Joanna Dark in Perfect Dark Zero), that would bring some variety and fun to the shootouts. Tomb Raider II also featured some pre-selected angles when you pulled off certain stunts, like when you drive the speedboat up the ramp and through the restaurant in Venice, I´d like for such scenes to return, they just really made me feel like an actionhero(ine).
Well, I can probably think of more additions or changes to add to this list, but I thought I´d give you a chance to say something now. Well?

Wow, I wouldn't know where to start. My life as it is is crazy so a game similiar to my life would be hard to make.
