Oblivion: Elder ScrollsSorry if I missed this game in another topic. I just started playing this on PS3 and I'm finding the fighting rather hard. Even the first fire imps in the first oblivion portal knock me around rather badly. I got close to the top of the first tower and then can't get past the foes without dying.
I'm an imperial woman with fighting skills.
Can anyone talk about this game. Why do you like it? Give me some fighting tips? There might be something about blocking I'm missing.

Hi Mary,
I haven't played this game for a long long time, but I'm sure there was a point I kept dying also and it turned out I had to essentially level up a few times doing more menial things, then return to the ones I couldn't defeat.

I've been playing for a bit on the PC... I know the controls are different but the objective and lv's are the same. try just exploring a bit prior to the main quest. I'm a dark elf, battle mage.... start working on the fighters guild quests and the mages guild... build up some basic skills then tackle the gates. i love this game for it open "go where you want,... do what you want" form,,, just start exploring,... see where you end up 
If you're just looking to CONKER the game: be Male, NORD, birth sign LADY. Gives you some strong starting stats. Then go to Skingrad.... you'll find it an easy city to start at.
