Old School - Favorite NES, SNES, Atari or Sega game??I love old school games and finding out what others like.
Here's my top 3:
NES - Super Mario Bros 3
SNES - Secret of Mana (but the unreleased SoM 2 is WAY better)
Sega - Lunar (though it was a Sega CD release)
.... What's your favorite?? ....

Yes, Super Mario 3 is way up there, I downloaded it to my Wii, and Saturday night, instead of playing somehting new, we played the one fame we all know inside out.
Also on the NES, there was a Mike Tyson boxing game which I enjoyed a lot, more than was appropriate, I'm sure.

Super Mario 3 is great. It's only flaw is that the levels are way too short. On SEGA, the one I like the most is Sonic 3 & Knuckles. I played it countless times when I was a kid.
As for the SNES, my favorite game gotta be Super Metroid. It has ballanced difficulty, decent graphics and soundtrack for the time, smooth controls, power-ups, dazzling blondes in full suits of bright orange armor and one of the goofiest videogame ads ever created.

SNES would be Super Mario Kart. I also loved NBA Jam, Sim City, Uncharted Waters... Chrono Trigger, and Final Fantasy III I think it was. That's all I can remember off the top of my head.
I don't remember NES although we had one... did NES have a Micro Machines game? racing around on breakfast tables and in sandboxes was fun.
Tetris and Dr. Mario are favourites on any console.

Mario 3 is always a goodie. I looooved Secret of Mana I remember sleepovers with my friends playing that all night, good times. I also still love Iron Sword for NES if any of you guys remember that one, it had an awful picture of Fabio holding a sword on the cover its hilarious. oh and kirby too... wait is that too many? lol

I remember Secret of Mana being one of the only RPG games where you could have two players, so my best friend and I would play that for HOURS. I don't think we ever beat it though. I still think it's one of the best games designed, so I went and got almost all the SoM series. I'm just missing a few of the new ones.
The next best game after Super Mario 3 was Super Mario World on SNES. That one was awesome. Has anyone seen the crazy Japanese video where someone hacked the game and made a music video out of it?

It just goes to show you that some people still have endless amounts of time. =D

NES - I agree with Mario Brothers 3
SNES- Golden Eye ( This game got me hooked on first person shooters)
Sega- I had Sega Channel, but Sonic and Tails were awesome!

1) River City Ransom
2) Bionic Commando
3) Mega Man 2
There are so many good ones though, like Little Nemo the Dream Master (Actually a lot of Capcom ones were good, Duck Tales, Chip N Dale) Ninja Gaiden, Double Dragon, Crash N the Boys Street Challenge, Final Fantasy...

Oh my god, I remember Little Nemo! I loved that game, but I don't think I ever beat it without the classic cheat. LOL. I think I didn't like that he had a stunted jump like Mega Man did. I loved the movie that they made out of it, though. That was cool.. =D

oh my gosh I forgot all about little nemo! That was a great game... I wonder if it'll come back on wiiware sometime? I would definitely buy it.
Its funny how much more difficult it was to beat a game back in the day, thank god for save files

I'll be honest, I'm still a Sonic fangirl. Sonic 2 was my favorite, I'd spend hours playing when I was little.
I only had the Sega Genesis, but my neighbors had an NES and I couldn't get enough of Dunk Hunt or Dr. Mario.

My favorite NES titles are:
Megaman (duh)
Any of the Nekketsu Monogatari ( aka: River City, Crash N the Street Boys, Dodge Ball, etc.)
All of the Ninja Gaidens. I still can't pass the fourth level in the third one, I don't think it's possible. Tecmo, you sly bastards.
Shatterhand.
For the SNES:
Mega Man X (I heart you storm eagle.)
EVO: Better than Pokemon!
Super Street Fighter II: I Love you, Cammy, if only you knew you had a lesbian stalker.
Genesis:
Ling King: One of those rare games based on a movie that was actually good.
Sonic 3+knuckles: As a kid, the ending battles brought my weak-ass to tears.
Your Mom: Just seeing if you're paying attention. Your mom is.

I think you can download an emulator of the Ice Hockey game that's completely translated. Other cool game made by the same company is Nekketsu Kakutou Densetsu ( Nekketsu Wrestling Legends or Hero Fighters.) It wasn't released to stateside, but, like Ice Hockey, there are emulators available. It's pretty awesome. Pure, super-deformed violence.
Depending on your name, birthday, and blood-type, the game would customize a character just for you with with traits that follow that "type." Ex: Pisces born in from march 1-9 would have heavy fighters while scorpios born on 24-31 would have faster fighters.
