Other JJ Abrams work

So it's pretty obvious that a lot of us like LOST quite a bit but what about other stuff he's either written and/or directed? Human emotion/trials and extraordinary circumstances seem to be a common factor in all of his works.

As far as movies, I enjoyed Forever Young, Armageddon and Cloverfield, although it took a couple of watches for me to really get into Cloverfield. I have yet to watch Mission Impossible 3, and I'm sure I will at some point, but I am curious to see what he's going to do with Star Trek!

For TV series, I'm liking Fringe the further into the story it gets. It felt a lot like an X-Files clone at first but I'm happy that that feeling has faded. Never got a chance to get into either Felicity or Alias, but I've heard good things about both.

Anyhow, discuss!

My experience with JJ Abrams is very limited (Armageddon, MI:III, Alias). While I've tried watching Lost, I have till this day never seen a complete episode of any of the seasons, it just doesn't grab me. However, Alias on the other hand, is the business. I love love love, did I say love? Loves it! It was the main reason I started to watch Fringe, needed a Sydney type replacement but that has failed as well, I find myself being distracted or bored whenever I attempt to watch an episode. I must say though, after seeing the trailer for star trek I really can't wait to see it.

I think you pretty much covered all of his work Nekonite! LOST was a show that JJ Abrams took a risk with it..and it turned out to be a phenomenon! LOST will probably be his most remembered work. Now granted it is a show that only certain people understand, but once you get "LOST", you just want more. They say the show will never get canceled, even if the ratings drop this season. They have a contract for 6 seasons, and I don't think ABC would cancel their famous show anyways..

I am looking forward to Star Trek this spring, seeing where FRINGE goes and wait for the next big thing from JJ Abrams!

I was hoping to be able to catch a standby ticket for Ajira 316 but some fat guy who kept on saying "dude" bought all the empty seats. ><

Also, John Locke is amazing and I take back every bad thing I said about him ever.

LMAO!

I am a big fan of Locke as well.

Episodes that told Locke's back story, are my favorite!

Walkabout

Further Instructions

Lockdown

The Man From Tallahassee

Cabin Fever

and

now

the Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham

Are the key episodes..

Though he has had struggles in life, he belongs on the island!

I got a little emotional at the end of this weeks episode...

Last night there was a thread on /b/ that repeated nearly all of Locke's awesome lines in The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham. I really didn't like the character until that episode.

Mango's FTW!

Locke definitely has some awesome one liners!

Well my experiences have been  limited as well but I enjoyed Alias very much so until the last season when it became mediocre.

Armageddon was a damn good movie, I have yet to see Cloverfield.
The few episodes I have seen of Fringe I really liked but it conflicted with I show I was already following.

Did Not Like:

LOST became a crap show to me after they revealed (in season 2 or 3 I believe) that the monster chasing them was a puff of smoke. They completely lost me and I have never looked back... well that's a lie, when it returned I tried to view it again and I just couldn't get over that disappointment.

M:I:III- I thought it was just alright... not as good as one.. maybe I'll view it again.
