Queer AuthorsHas anyone read anything by Leroy Aarons? I just read one of his books after a year of having it sit on my shelf and I picked it up and couldn’t put it down until I was finished. Such a powerful and moving story, that reminded me that as awful as people can be, there is always some good to come out of tragedy.

Yea this book is really moving. There is actually a movie starring with Sigourney Weaver that I keep seeing commercials for. It airs soon, I’ll find a link and try to post it on here.

Are you talking about Prayers for bobby? It is a really good read. Did you know there is a movie for it? I’ve seen commercials for it all week. On tomorrow: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vAfBXW1e6U

So, I ended up watching that movie with a few friends and by the end of it we were all in tears. Did any one make it through with out sobbing like a school girl?

Try W.H. Auden. He writes beautiful poetry, and he's gay.
Adrienne Rich is a gay poet, alongside Christina Rossetti, Chrystos, Jewelle Gomez, Audre Lorde, etc... Sappho, of course is the mother of all lesbian poets and you should try reading If Not, Winter - the fragments of Sappho translated by Anne Carson (Carson is not gay, though).

Oh also, Mark Doty is one of the finest gay poets I know...
