RIP Xbox 360Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa my 360 just died!!! I have to ship it off to microsoft to get it fixed, what a major friday night killer!! Maaaaan im so sad had planned a games marathon tonight with a few friends and then it dies on me!!! im officially depressed!

That sucks. How long have you had it? I got mine in Sept...or the beginning of October, I think. Just in time to play Halo 3. So mine is pretty new. I'm hoping that it'll last longer cause it has the heatsinks in it. But whatever.

Ive had it for over a year without problems until tonight, im still so bitter and sad tho, it'll take about a month to fix as well!! DAMMIT means i have to hit the ps2 and xbox, baaaah i hate it!

Maybe you'll get one of the newer ones and it wont break again after a week like the one I had once. Still sucks.

mine died last week i had it about 17months not the 3r but disk drive failed. i payed over 400 dollars for it it should have lasted a lot longer than that at the time i bought it did not know they where so sensitive so did not bother calling in the warranty. i know.so had to go out and buy a new one this time pay the 30 dollars for the store warranty so next time it fails i just go to the store to pick up a new one. a part of me wanted to just say screw it and get a ps3 but i would only be punishing my self lol : )

Just glad microsoft extended the warranty for 3 years so I'm not paying a dime, just have to wait a while. At this rate I might just go and buy a ps3.

I just got mine back like a week ago. It only took about 10 days they just sent me a new one. So maybe you wont have to wait to long. I know it sure felt like forever. I feel for ya... =(

the ps3 is a really sexy looking machine i know a few ppl whit them but none of them really play online one of my friends told me that the online part is kinda un reliable. the fact that i well get one any just for the blue ray.but the 360 is loads more fun. and the fact that i went tru 3 ps2 b4 i gave up and bought the original xbox that gave me no problem i wont give upon xbox just yet.

Playstation's online service is horrible and makes people want to cry. All everyone does is mod and cheat. Its been like that since the PS2 days

Lol well I never bothered trying to go online with my ps2. But I have to say it was so reliable, I got when it first came out and it never died. Still with my original ps2. Im having withdrawal symptoms from not playing pro evo and that sucks!!!

So after a stupidly long time and several conversations with xbox support, I should be getting a new xbox just in time for when I finish finals. This whole ordeal has driven me nuts and if my xbox dies for whatever I reason, I vow here and now to never go back!!! I'm already so close to investing in a ps3 and I might just go ahead and do that. I shall be receiving a call from some of their supervisors and if they don't sweeten the deal some more then its more hell for them!!! I really feel for people who go through this shit!

I thought Microsoft were going to fix the red ring of death. The stories about the over-heating of the chips inside have been rife over the last few months.
It would be cheaper for them to correct the problems than to go on selling the duff units surely?

yiiikes I can't believe you still don't have it back yet! I hope they get their shit together soon, I'd hate for you to switch consoles. My ps3 mostly just collects dust, sadly.

The high failure rate of the 360 really has put me off getting one otherwise it would probably be my console of choice if I was to pick one out of this generation. Once I actually get around to buying a console it looks likely I'll end up with a Wii.

whoa. i always hear horror stories about the 360 and am counting down the days until i get the RROD.
actually, because of school i haven't been on the xbox much and have been hitting the portables pretty hard in between classes and stuff.
the ps3 is pretty sexy, but i definitely don't have the money to be buying such toys.

so many of my friends.....So many of my friends are getting fed up with their 360 issues and are moving to PS3's. My cousin just burnt out his 2nd 360 and as soon as the replacement arrives this time he will sell it.
is this microsoft paying the price for pushing out a faulty console to be first in the next gen race?

no RROD yet... and hopefully never. just a bad DVD drive on the old box. sent it in and they replaced the entire box because it was manufactured during the RROD batch year.
the elite has been chugging along splendidly. it's also quieter and operates better (smoother, faster) than the classic box.
