anyone else got ahold of rock band yet?? i got this the other night.....and i am enjoying it! doing the solo tour mainly....kinda doing a multiplayer tour with my wife....haha but she is not down with sitting in front of the tv gaming for hours on end like me.... peraps we can get a lesbian/queer band together.....i am trying to get online mon, tues, and wed nights.....

I am getting it for Christmas...I already know about it because I picked it up...but I've had to be good and just stare at the box since Nov. 20...it's pretty much been torture

Wahhhhhh not out here in Australia yet so can't get it. Gutted. I know it looks amazing though and I can't wait to do the drums. I got an electronie drumkit for Christmas so I'm getting in the practice early lol.
Is it as good as all the hype suggests?

i am hoping to get Rock Band for Christmas. I HOPE!!!!!!!!!! I really freakin want to play it. My wife said she isnt going to buy me games for christmas this year, because i traded in all the games she game me last year (she picked really random games). But i hope my parents do!!

I would so be down for a band! that would be sweet!

I have Rock Band! ITS THE BEST! Its way better than Guitar Hero! I love that I can switch instruments or even sing..
I love the band world tour mode, I love everything!

I have rock band as well and have been playing it a lot lately. I've been doing the tug of war thing on live but I don't get how it figures out the winner or who's winning. I'll be at 100% and the other person is still ahead of me. The drums are a bit harder than I thought, mainly because I play the drums but they're not the same as playing them in the game, I expected a bit of difference but I find myself hitting along with the actual drum line and not the game notes.

Over all I'm enjoying it more than Guitar Hero, hopefully they'll come out with some more female lead songs to download bu the ones it does have are pretty decent. If anyone ever wants to play a few rounds, add me, I'm so tired of playing with these 15 year old guys who cut out of the match as soon as they start losing.

Yeah I did the same thing. I had a friend over playing guitar while I played drums for the Band World Tour.

I don't know if I'm holding the sticks wrong or something, but i ended up getting blisters on my right hand from drumming. They were really small and went away after like a day or two, but still, wtf?

just got this yesterday and already beat solo tour on easy (of course Razz

)with the guitar . i love this game sooooooooo much! im having trouble with the drums though. its gonna take me a while to learn them. i can just see me throwing the sticks across the room,lol. the mic that came with it doesnt work Sad

so havent checked out the singing part yet. Gonna rest my hands now..left hand is actually numb . sorry i havent been on here much, been busy, but anyone wanting to play rock band im all in

I finally broke down and bought this. I gotta say though...I still like Guitar Hero better. But I do enjoy playing the drums. I'm going through the solo tour on med with drums. I have one song left to complete on expert on guitar. The songs are so much easier compared to expert on Guitar Hero (which I can't really do too well).

I have yet to play this online, as no one seems to be playing it at the same time I am. haha

I don't own it yet personally. A bunch of friends and I got together on New Years and played the night away. There's was lots of drinking involved to so it was a grand time. That aside it's so much fun to play. I was the bassist. I can't play the drums to save my life. I didn't even bother trying to sing. I'm sure all of you would have been able to hear it if I did.

i have been a HUGE guitar hero fan since its release and am trudging myway through GH3 currently. Have also made numerous cameo appearences on a friends SingStar game. Being a musician these games are Ace for me!

Rockband looks like it will take it to the next level with the drums and the whole band online experience.

Joystiq announces that MadCatz will be releasing Rock Band peripherals. I'd post the link to the actual article at rockbandmods.net but I get a 500 error, very interesting.

Also along the same vein, IGN has an article about Guitar Hero 4 with high-res images of the drums and guitar, oh my. Via Wii Fanboy.

Finally, on a sad note, I think my drums are on their way out Sad

My yellow pad seems to just not register unless I hit it right in the middle, or if I'm slightly off the middle I have to hit it really hard. So I'm either concentrating on hitting the middle of the pad, or concentrating on getting more oomph (people always comment that I play them so quietly, so it doesn't come naturally to me to hit them hard) and it screws me up anyway. Needless to say, it's extremely frustrating. But I'm getting more guitar practice now, it's been awhile. Razz

That sucks about your drum kit :/, I think my yellow pad is busted too, it keeps dropping random notes when I hit it :\ *le sigh* I guess RttH will never be beaten until I can get another set.

Yeah the premium drums are totally expensive, could buy like a whole RB set for that. But they would definitely be fun to try. I don't think there's a picture of the cheaper smaller set for $50 though. Btw the site's finally up, I can't believe they don't have higher res photos, what a rip off.

Is it bad if part of my brain thinks a broken drum set = excuse to buy GH4 or a 3rd party set in the interim? lol. I could give away my 2nd hand set and I'm sure it'd make someone happy.

GH4's guitar looks a lot nicer, and it should be easier to activate star power, but the bigger size isn't a selling point for me cause I'm pretty small (5'2). No doubt the touch sensitive strip is intriguing... wonder how hammer-ons and pull-offs will be on that.

haha it's not bad at all, in fact since my drums seem to be going out it all but solidified me buying the whole GH4 bundle for sure instead of just the guitar and game bundle Razz

. The thought of buying the Madcatz drum set instead of GH4 crossed my mind aswell but I think i'll have more fun with the new GH4 game. Hopefully the pedal on the GH4 drum set is made better than the rock band one.

Thats a good question about the HO and PO's, hopefully you'll be able to do them on the main frets too because I sucked at using the solo buttons on the Strat (for the limited time I used it) i'm much more used to doing them on the main buttons Razz

Then RB2 comes out before GH4... AND you can play all your RB songs on RB2... so RB2 wins! Beatles announced for RB2, that's awesome.

Btw a friend's going to help me with trying to fix my drums hopefully within the next couple days... cross your fingers, I hope it works!

Psh, and did you guys hear that Konami is releasing a "rockband esque" game over here also? I think it's called Rock Revolution. I just wish they'd release drummania or guitar freaks in America. There's enough rhythm games with american rock music already, I'm ready for some japanese music now.

*chuckles* so...after seeing the setlist I can't WAIT for RB2....I couldn't figure out if I wanted GH:WT or RB2...so I just pre-ordered the game for RB2 (I dont like the strat and NEVER use the mic) and i'm going to buy the drum kit when it comes out by itself..and I pre-ordered the GH:WT Bundle ( I LOVE the GH guitars!)...so i'm totally excited for this fall...i'm going to have so much music to play....!

About the $300 ion kit...=O =O it looks GREAT....and you can't beat the fact that it doubles as a real electric kit..I don't play drums nearly enough to put down $300 for a kit...but for the hardcore drummers it's going to be amazing.

PS: I think that HMX said that there will be 20 FREE DLC songs at the launch making 104 songs for the game at launch! (excluding old DLC and RB1 songs!) =O.

Whoa, I hadn't heard of the 20 free songs, that'll be sweet (providing their good songs... but then again, I download any free song as it's more/different practice).

Apparently RB1 instruments will be compatible with GH:WT, so there's no reason for me to not buy GH:WT... I'll just lay off new instruments until my current ones die. Unless I come into boatloads of money. Razz
