Screen Cleaning TipsOkay my PC screen is looking a little mucky at the moment but im seriously lacking in any professional product. Does anyone have any tips for the best way to clean a screen using stuff around the home? I have an uncanny knack for making it even smudgier than it was before if im left to my own devices.
Thanks!!

If these are LCD screens do not use Windex.
The ammonia does not play well with plastics as it tends to dull the display surface.
Use dedicated cleaning liquid along with a dedicated cloth. Paper towels are too rough in texture for the screen but can be used on display casing.

Well that's certainly new and useful information.
I will have to start doing that now. Never noticed my display dulling but I wouldn't want it to happen.
Thanks for the info!

Get some Microfibre cloths, if you make them damp they get all the dirt off no problem, Even used dry they can get a lot of dust etc off the screen. they can also be washed and reused and they're cheap too
Some LCD monitor manufacturers now include one in the box.
Hope this helps

Well, at work, we use iClear, which seems to do the job just fine, although you do have to make sure to thoroughly wipe and buff the screen or it will leave streaks. Ugh, I hate it when we're closing at night and people do a half-assed job of cleaning all the demo screens and I can still see streaks. -_-;

iClear is awesome - I've used that stuff for years.
Fwiw, not all microfiber cloths are created equally. There are some that do more damage dry or wet.
