Second LifeDoes anyone else play this?
I just downloaded it the other day and apparently its addictive, kind of like the Sims.
Anyone wanna shed some light as to how good or bad it is?

I had tried it out a long time ago. It was fun to fly around and see the cool places ppl made, but other than that some of the stuff for the "game" is a little...strange! Lots of furries and wierd ppl!

It's basically just sortof a glorified chat and interaction program. With graphics that users can create themselves, or virtual items they can buy from others, and from real companies etc.
I generally don't join things for chat and social interaction, I join things because they have something to do with my interests. While there may be chat areas that have something to do with some of my interests, there's no moderation or anything generally, and any immature, pre-pubescent male can make a giant, flying penis and park it right in front of you. ugh.. Not for me at all, sorry.

Yeah, I tried it when it was still in beta and it didn't catch me at all. =/ And then I saw furries and sex 'bars' and all kinds of weird things and it *smiles* suddenly disappeared from my computer forever. Oops. =D

went in once to see what the damn fuss was about. i found the graphics to be gross and the controls icky. i dont think i got far past the tutorial. its like the sims. if the NPC's were freaky sex maniacs.

I'd never heard of it till I read this post...and then I tried to download it...complete waste of my time, it wont even run on my comp cause its so slow. There were thousands of people on though..guess its a really big deal lmao.

If any of you remember waaaay back when (at least 10 years ago) when AOL was pretty much the only internet provider with all the cool features, everyone "played" in chat rooms and role played in those chat rooms. (Also known as "Rhydin") Second Life is the reincarnation of that, just with imaging. It's a scary scary place.

I do hop on it when I'm extremely bored or when I should be doing some work and need to waste time. It's ok-ish!!

the only cool thing about second life that i know about is that some npr shows have things in game. namely science friday.
i just don't quite get the whole concept tho, if i'm going to play an MMO i want it to be more like a gamegame and less like playing some perverted adult version of playing house. hehe.  it is kindof cool that it has so much user created content and stuff, it's just not for me.
