SWG and the NGEIn the history of gaming there has never been a more heated and long standing bitch among gamers than SOE's major folly known as the NGE.
If this section of the forum is to be complete, this topic is a "must have" .
It is a sad tale of what was once a beautiful game, (though not perfect) which was later destroyed by its makers.
To this day SOE has yet to make a "real apology" to the players that poured their time and money into that MMO by refusing to explain the reasons behind the disaster known as the NGE.
Even I still mourn its loss to this day... And I would like to know why?

okay so..it's probably a mix of me never having played SWG and having to get up at 4am to go to my 5:30am shift at work after going to bed at 12am but...

SWG= Starwars Galaxies
SOE= Sony Online Entertainment ( they are the launch pad for Everquest, Matrix, Starwars Galaxy and Vanguard).
NGE= New Game Experience. This is the lable SOE gave their wide sweeping changes that sent players on a global rant that is still going on to this day.
And EEK...those are some tough hours there sugar!

I played SWG the day it was launched and for some months there after befor getting bored with it and moving on to something else. Since then I've hopped back in and out at least 1/2 a dozen times, and coincidentaly, have been playing it for the last few weeks. So I've seen it in all it's forms.
Did Sony royally screw the pooch with their NGE? Absolutly. But, It's still a fun game,( or I wouldn't play it.) Of course, I'm just one gamer and I'm pretty laid back about most things. I know an aweful lot of players have become very bitter about the whole thing, and I certainly don't blame them.
