The L Word Season 5Right, so it's almost time for the first episode of the new season of the L Word. Remember you can see it online at ourchart.com on the 30th of December. What would everyone's wishes be for this season?
Based on the trailer I've seen so far, my wishes would be for Bette and Tina to get back together. I have no idea why I want this, I can't stand Tina anymore to be honest and Bette is annoying, but still... something inside me really wants them back together.
Also, my dream would be for someone to break Shanes heart for a change since she always seems to be the one doing the breaking. Oooo controversial.
As for Helena... her being in prison... more scenes with her and some hot prison lesbians would be fantastic!
Other than that, the likelihood of Sarah Shahi coming back or Erin Daniels coming back is pretty slim so I'll have to just get used to that fact. What about you guys?

i agree with you about not being able to stand tina, she's such an annoying twit now. or has she always been? inexplicably though i think everyone wants to see bette and tina back together haha.
aside from that, i want to see less of the max/papi/kit storylines i don't care about, more humor in place of forced drama and a complete lack of vagina euphemism scenes. but who am i kidding, this is the l word we're talking about 
as many ups and down as the show has had, i'm still looking forward to season 5 so they must be doing something right!

nice thread, i don't really have any wishes but shane is gonna get heartbroken, bette and tina baaaah not really bothered. I wanna see some more crazy shit happening to jenny, she's just sooo psycho but i love her tho! oh how can i forget Helena in jail now thats gonna be something

I have read the episode spoilers for the first 6 epis and man there's a lot of drama in there!
I absolutely agree about the whole max/papi thing. Soooo not interested. Even more so hearing about what Max is getting up to in this season. If you want to know then the spoiler is at the bottom of the post.
Also as for Bette and Tina, I know I know... they suck but they need to be together. Again, spoiler info at the bottom of the post on that one. I've lost interest in Shane as well because it's getting boring seeing her screwed up. We've all got shit to deal with, some of us deal with it better than others sure I get that.. but still... it's becoming a little bit annoying now.

Max deals with an attraction to a guy (as a same sex attraction since she's now a he. Now I don't know about you guys, but for me... well I just don't care. It's The L Word... Lesbian. Not transgendered. I know there should be a place to deal with that on TV, I'm cool with that, but it feels like they're trying to fit everything in and that's dumb. Also, having her be attracted to a guy.. hmm.
Bette and Tina definitely have developing feelings for each other and Bette is very jealous over Tina's new girlfriend so that should be interesting too.
Alice is all stressed out because her army girlfriend is being investigated for homosexual conduct. This means she doesn't go to Iraq... yawn.. do we really care?
Shane screws around with a ton of people as always and screws things up with Paige. Not really a big surprise is it?

*sigh* my only real wish for this season was for the shane/paige storyline to continue. they were good together and shane seemed to be growing and changing. it was nice. plus lets face it. kristanna loken is smokin hot. and now that painkiller jane is cancelled, i don't know where else i will be able to see her.

i'd like to see more drag queens. they're fun!

Thank god we got it on DVD!NO SPOILERS!!! Don't get worried!
Over here in Germany they've only ever played season 1. And that was in 2006. Lucky for us we bought all the dvds online. And all I can say is: Season 4 was reeeaaallly good. just got it and watched it yesterday. Don't know why so many hated it.
But the show is too damn short! 12 x 45 minutes a year?? Come on!

saw the season 5 premiere on ourchart the other day. i can't really form any real opinions yet... but i think it'll just be more of the same from season 4. which isn't bad, but isn't that great either...

Nope, no pay tv. Well, if you subscribe to satellite or cable then you can order extra channels, but L Word isn't on there. I would love to get the WB, CBS, NBC, Showtime etc. But we don't get ami channels here.
How's the L Word doing in the US? Is it a biiig show?

this is the first time i will be able to see it when it frist appears on tv so i dont want to spoil it by downloading early . had to bittorent the former seasons before they would come out on dvd. now i have showtime...w00t and i alreeady tivo'd the entire season.... such a geek

yep! it is a big show, big success!
that's too bad you can't get certain shows or channels from the states, but then we can't get other channels from other countries, except financial stats and BBC-America. wouldn't be cool to get any channel on the planet? and, be able to choose all of your channels, rather than the channels that come with the package?

my friend and i absolutely loved the 2nd episode of 5th season, it was the best episode i've seen in a really long time... then i got pretty disappointed by the 3rd episode. who wrote that episode?? everyone seemed really out of character, shane and alice especially. the helena departure was also really disappointing.  i really hope that episode 4 fares better.

I'm so upset that Dana pased on, I sooo wanted her and Al to get back together...so cute! Bette and Tina could have fixed it... Damn you Tina and your sudden bisexual exploration! Also, Shane standing up Carmen. It was predictable but damn, I really though Carmen had tamed Shane a bit. >.<
Ok, just had to get that out there. Watch the show it will suck you in.

first dana, then carmen and now helena! ARGH!
and you know... i dont know about any of you, but Jenny is really making me mad and she is annoying. Ilene only keeps her on the show because she is loosly based on Ilene when she was younger, and rumor has it that Ilene was upset that nobody really liked her to begin with and is now making her obnoxious on purpose.
I was really excited after ep. 2, but after ep. 3 i am starting to having my doubts. It will be interesting to see which way the season goes because the L word is in its 5th season and im worried that if things dont change soon its not going to be back....

Yeah I definitely didn't like Jenny on seasons 1 or 2 - I just didn't care about her. Season 3 she was ok... but I think its so funny that basically she started out as a "normal" girl and then all of a sudden tried to become so nonconformist and againt the way of life she used to live.
Meh. So yeah, I just hate Jenny too! On the other hand, I used to hate Helena but now I sorta like her more, but since I'm not caught up to season 5 yet I could be hating her soon again!

no doubt! this season is fantastic. i too, think they'll continue Helena's storyline a little later in the season. if not, i'll always think she took the money and ran off to the island with her prison sweetie.

Apparently Helena should be back by about episode 10, or at least near the end of the season. Which is a shame because I started to really like her. In the earlier seasons she came across as a bitch but now she's actually quite funny.
Like most fans I'm hoping that Bette and Tina get back together, although I like the 'will they' or 'won't they' excitment.
I'm not sure how I feel about Jenny though, she's very annoying, obviously. But it's somewhat of a different role for her to be playing. Rather then the excessively dark one.
It's a good season, I just hope there is lots of twists!

I have to say I was expecting this season to be dire given they seem to get worse as they go along, but so far I'm actually enjoying it.
Of course if the Paris Hilton thing is true (about her joining the cast), that may be enough to make me switch off.

How do people feel this season is going now its a bit further in?
I'm quite enjoying it - its not the best season, but it is so much better than some of the previous season! I'm enjoying the Tasha storyline, I think its a good one to tackle at the moment. I'm also enjoying the whole Lez Girls - I think its fun
Do any other UK girls post on here? If so - have you heard about the convention Jennifer Beals is doing in Blackpool in November? Cannot WAIT to meet her

Yeah there's UK peeps here, I'm in good ol' Birmingham! This season has been ace but I miss Helena, I want to see what happens to them she bar girls I cannot for the life of me stand Dawn Denbo or w/e her name is.
I didn't know there was a convention in november but meeeh might mark a date in the diary then, I'll look into it.

Dawn Denbo and 'her lover Cindy' - we were discussing them today (me and my flatmates, all L Word fans!) and we decided they are really annoying - but hilariously so!!
I miss Helena aswell...not as much as I thought I would though! I hope she comes back, but I haven't majorly missed her....
Jenny's character is improving for me (finally!). I've hated her so much the last few season....but she has improved dramatically in the last few eps
You should definitely check out the L Word event (www.seanharry.com), they are awesome! I have met most of the cast through it Also made tons of fellow fan friends! Always a bonus....
Sarah Shahi,Laurel Holloman, Rachel Shelley and Anne Ramsey are doing one in a few weeks too

I enjoyed Episode 9 - I found it quite funny, I also liked the dynamics between the pairs they focused on...thought it made it interesting.
I also thought it definitely offered a nice light relief, especially with the whole 'mafia sit down' etc! I thought that was brilliantly done...

The whole thing with Bette and Tina getting back together makes me very, very happy! They were always my favorite couple, and I was so sad when they broke up. I just feel so bad for Jodi. I didn't like her at first, and now I do.
So I use to like Shane the most, and now I think it might be a tie between Tina and Alice. It's funny...I never liked Tina before. I dunno what happened. haha

Ok so just watched 512. I'm not gonna post any spoilers but between the dodgy camera angles, diabolical acting, 2bit excuses for breaking up, cheating and all sorts of wonderful non-sense, this is by far the worst l word finale. what do you guys think?
At this rate they better make season 6 count.

A little lame.Yeah the ending was a bit... terrible.
But I wonder if it had anything to do with the writers strike? We're the writers for Showtime a part of that? Maybe not.
But yeah the whole...

Nikki Shane thing was a little messed up. I mean Shane's crazy and all but it's unlike her character to mess with Jenny.
I know a lot of people are POed about the Tibette thing but I like them. And Jodi is a crazy-ass bitch! [my opinion since day one!] I'm pretty fluent with sign language so that was a cool element, but Jodi's character just annoyed me!
Another annoying thing is the whole Shane screwing everything up, Molly seemed really good for her, and I really liked the things that was going there. But, I mean, it is Shane.
Anyway I hope season 6 works out better. The whole Carmen coming back thing is all up in the air, but I kinda hope it happens, I mean it is drama. [no matter how unrealistic] But God forbid please don't use Paris Hilton [oh PS they signed on Paris Hilton for season 6] I just don't know what I'm going to do! [other then die.]
I just hope they don't end on season 6, I'm a little afraid it might be bad? Thanks goodness they decided to have it at least and that THIS was NOT the series finale!
Oh well I'll just sit here and wait until January 2009 for the next season. =]

wished Shane wouldn't have messed with Jenny's gal.
LOVED Helena stepping in with her newly found 'sense of investing'! she's like a fantastic looking superhero with money signs on her outfit.
although Jenny is a pain... i think this time she's really suffered deeply and might revert back to self-abuse (remember, she's a recovering cutter). she's lost control over her book, her movie (they changed the ending) and her true love, and her trusted friend.
Jody's 'art show' was over the top... yet fitting.
Angela Robinson directed a lot of the episodes this year, and i hope she continues directing in the final season. they were much more interesting this season, with the little bits of campy spice and intrigue (Miami lesbian mafia!).
