Toronto International Film FestivalI just saw that Bitch Slap is playing there, at the Midnight Madness portion, along with a bunch of other cool sounding movies like [REC]2!
Is anyone else going, and if you are, what movies are you looking forward to the most?

Oh god I've been looking forward to the film fest since June. I know this is kinda lame but I'm definitely going to see Whip It starring Ellen Page. The actors are gonna be there and I really want to try and meet EP considering she's my favourite actress. Also wouldn't mind seeing Youth in Revolt considering I liked the book. I haven't really looked through all the films yet but I plan to buy all my tickets on Friday and see which films I end up going to.
Bitch Slap seems like it would be entertaining. May just have to check it out along with Jennifer's Body since I like Diablo Cody. The only thing about MM is I have school the next day. >=[

I totally forgot Whip it was going to be there, I was too caught up in the MM program to even think of anything outside of it I even scheduled a break in work so I could go.
Even though they are playing at MM, all the movies are repeating on other days a little earlier. I think Jennifer's Body is on again on Saturday at noon and then on the 17th at 8pm. Bitch Slap is on again on the 16th at 3:15. However, they may already be sold out.
Are you going to go to the Roller Derby demo at Yonge/Dundas as well? It's next Sunday, and some of the cast will be there.

Oh yeah I totally forgot that there are several screenings. Thanks for reminding me. >=]
Wow I didn't even know there was a roller derby demo going on. I friggin love roller derby. I went once to a game and it was awesome, the crowd was so into it. I might just have to go now...do you have any idea what time it's going on at?

I would love to go to this but I don't feel like driving all the way from Michigan. And I'm busy that week moving.

From what I've seen, it's going to be on Sunday, the 13th at 4pm at Dundas square. Here's the link http://tiff.net/filmsandschedules/films/spotlightwhipit
Also, the Toronto Roller Derby has a website: http://www.torontorollerderby.com/home

Were you able to get tickets to all your picks?
I think I'm just sticking with the MM shows I have, otherwise...I'd wind up seeing about 30 movies. So many of them sound so good.

We waited in line for three hours and only got one of them, Bitch Slap. This was my first year and I had no idea the lines would be like that. I met this girl though who has been going for a long time and she let me in on what to do for some of the other movies to still get tickets. *sigh*
It's okay though we had a good time in line and I'm really excited about Bitch Slap. It's going to be hilarious. You definitely have the right idea picking the MM ones. They all seem really good. I need to re-think my choices and just order online now. I'll know better for next year hahaah...

Aww, I'm sorry to hear you only got one of the movies. But hopefully the tips you got will help with the rest.
I'm thinking for next year, I'm going bigger, so I'll need to learn how to TIFF as well. It's very confusing for people who have advance tickets, When I was in line for my tickets, I saw all these people scribbling away madly. I had no idea what was going on, but I guess their advance ticket packages didn't cover all the movies they wanted, so they were trying to trade for other ones. It's crazy.

Heh...thanks for the sympathy. >=]
Dude! I agree everyone in line had all these sheets of paper writing codes of movies down and stuff i was like wtffffff. I definitely need to learn how to TIFF too. I don't feel like waiting in a line for three hours just to find out the movie you REALLY wanna see is off sale. -_-
So are you going to the midnight show of Bitch Slap?

Yeah, I have 10 tickets to midnight showings of movies. I can't wait until Bitch Slap shows, I think it's the 5th movie.
I have to say, I'm getting more excited about seeing Jennifer's Body, but it's still the one I'm least interested in seeing in the program. I guess it's good that it's first, because I'm sure about halfway through I'll be getting a little tired, so having a movie I'm not too interested in seeing play might mean I would skip it.

Oh wow that's awesome!
I am so on the fence about Jennifer's Body. I kinda want to rush line it on the MM screening but I'm afraid it's going to be super shitty and I end up wasting 22 bucks as opposed to only 9 bucks at the theater when it comes out Sept 18th. I like Diablo Cody though so I think the movie will be...well written...not sure about the acting though. We shall see!

Ok, so far, I've seen 3 movies, and Daybreakers has been my favourite. I will go see it again when it's out in mass release, I really really liked it.
Survival of the Dead...was okay. Huge improvement from Diary, the cast was much better, but it still felt a little off.
Jennifer's Body was surprisingly decent. I did enjoy the dialogue, and the music.
Oh, and I'm going to rush for Kirot today, it's an Israeli movie featuring Tel Aviv (part of the City to City program that Jane Fonda is boycotting because it's Israel) and it http://www.telaviv-fever.com/index.php/tag/ninet-tayeb/
It looks like fun...so I'm going to go see it. And then follow it up with a midnight showing of The Loved Ones.
Oh and I checked the website, they have Whip It ticket on sale so if you're still trying to go, if you can buy online, it might help you get seats.

Bitch Slap Bitch Slap Bitch Slap Bitch SlapI just got back from seeing BITCH SLAP! OMG, they were all so amazingly hot and destructive in the movie and I took a picture of Minae Noji with a rat and she's so cute and oh wow, if I hadn't seen The Loved Ones the other day, I would say this is the best of the lot.
The only thing I would have liked to have had be different is a longer scene with Lucy Lawless and Renee O'Conner.
I also found out that all the Q&A's from the showings are being posted on http://www.youtube.com/user/Sheleigh
I can't wait to see the Bitch Slap Q&A, since there are some really impressive answers and anecdotes from the actresses!

Yeah I saw Bitch Slap last night too! It was fucking awesome. So much fun. Although my friend bailed on me two hours before which was totally shit. We've had those tickets since the 3rd... I caught one of the soundtracks that guy was throwing out.
OH and I saw Whip It the same day and it was SOOOO AWESOME. The audience was great...had a really good vibe. Ellen Page once again nails her role. She's so talented its...crazy. I saw her in person twice and I may have died a bit. She is the most gorgeous girl I have EVER seen. Okay enough about her. But yeah it's a super fun movie and I scored tons of SWAG. I should post some pictures or something. I stole a giant Whip It poster it was awesome. Almost got my ass busted by security. Good times.
Unfortunately I have to give up my tickets for Fridays movie Trash Humpers=[
