Want a Podcast?Hey everyone,
Just wanted to ask whether any of you would be interested in listening to a Lesbian Gamers podcast? I know that we do one over at Thumb Bandits as a fortnightly podcast and it's pretty popular, but I wondered if you would bother listening to it if there was a comedy gaming lesbian podcast here just for Lesbian Gamers.com
Anyway, that's all... back to work. Wahhhh

Yes please!
I listen to the one from thumbbandits and it's pretty funny. Looove those accents. I also listen to another girl gaming one, but to be honest they say it's girl gaming but every episode is the same thing, a couple of giggling 'gamer girls' and a guy who does all the industry and actual gaming talk. So really it's lame. I also listen to an L Word podcast. So as an equation a lesbian gamer podcast would be great. Two of my favorite things in one.
Surely I'm not alone in thinking this would fill out an already cool site perfectly? Lesbians + Gaming = cool.

Heyyy,
So someone actually wants it? Cool. I think it'll be a blast, but it'll need to be wanted a little bit more than just one person lol. It's had a lot of views but nobody else has commented so no point in going ahead with it if it's not really needed.
If you're not sure what we're about check out some of the Thumb Bandits podcasts, just search for girl gamers in iTunes or go onto our feed direct from the Thumbies page.
Maybe if we get some more interest we can do this. Could be fun and could also be an excuse to talk about some of the discussions in here.

We'd really like to get this underway.
A couple of questions...
How shy are our members here? Would anyone consider co-hosting with us, doing guest spots to chat gaming, leaving voice mail for inclusion in the cast?
You can actually leave voice mail on the ThumbBandits Skype service and we'll get them for use here (thumbbandits has a paid for answering machine service and we've totally blown way too much cash on the site upgrade atm to even think about getting one ourselves). If you'd like to jump right in and do that, load Skype, search for 'thumbbandits' and leave a message and we'll get it here.
We need to test the water with this as it's very time consuming. We'd love for the members of the site to become involved on that level and it's free, so no cost to you other than a few minutes every couple of weeks.
Thoughts?

That sounds very cool. I use to listen to RightStuf's podcast, and a how to learn Japanese podcast, but then I would always miss new episodes and there were tons of them. Gave up trying to follow them.
I would listen to it. Dunno about speaking on it...as I am rather shy and um, I don't really like my voice. It sounds like a pretty awesome idea though.

Oh hell yeah! Let's get our voices heard! I would love to be a part of this too, if there is room, and if it's not too hardcore, hah!

I don't listen to podcasts, generally. The only podcast I've bothered to listen to is One Life Left, which is rather good. However podcasts require too much of a time commitment for me to keep up with. I already read nearly 200 RSS feeds a week, and adding any number of game-related podcasts to that mix would just be too much. The only other podcast I'd consider listening to besides OLL is GuildCast.
To be honest, I think I get more out of participating in forums and reading blogs than I think I would get from listening to a podcast. I'd be more likely to listen to a podcast if I knew the participants or if I believed the participants to be very knowledgeable about the topics that they talked about. In the case of OLL, I'm familiar with Ste Curran's journalistic work elsewhere.
It seems like you all are friends from another site, so if you could get traffic from Thumb Bandits to listen to your podcast it might be worthwhile. I don't know what your numbers are like for this site, but your forum membership stands at less than 75 people, so you all might just be talking to yourselves.

Hi,
This site only went live one and a half weeks ago so 52 members is pretty good for us so far. Also, I think there are a few people here who might know each other from other places online, but we don't all know each other and I think most people here are just getting to know people now. Hopefully that you thought we all knew each other is a good thing lol! Means we must all sound friendly hhahaha
We do a thumb bandits podcast and its very successful, number one girl gaming podcast on itunes, but there's we'd like a lesbian gamers podcast where we can really talk about gaming from a more lesbian viewpoint as the thumbbandits podcast is listened to by a lot of men also. I guess we're just trying to figure out whether that's worth while. Hopefully once it's on iTunes a lot more people will also listen to it and maybe even then it'll help add numbers to the site.
We'll keep reading all the views here though so we know what you guys think and thanks for the responses so far!
