Katamaro
Loco Roco
BioShock

I'm gonna go with these ones. I like how sad it is that I've been gaming since I was three years old: I have included the release dates of each of these games to demonstrate how I have no life.
1) Counter Strike Source (2004)
2) Quake (1996)
3) Team Fortress 2 (2007)
4) Oblivion (2006)
5) Quake IV (2005)
6) Descent II (1996)
7) Descent I (1995)
Wolfenstein 3D (1992)
9) Commander Keen: Goodbye, Galaxy! (1991)
10) Quake III (1999)

Re: fav games1. Halo series (2 is my favorite, but just cause I spent so much time in it. 3 will probably pass it when I spend enough time with it.)
2. Guitar Hero series
3. Metal Gear Solid series (Snake Eater was my fav.)
4. The Sims
5. The Curse of Monkey Island
6. Dreamfall: The Longest Journey
7. Indigo Prophecy
8. Parappa The Rapper (Super catchy music! I just played this again the other night. I will NEVER get rid of this game!)
9. The Neverhood
10. Super Mario World
Hmmm. I know there are some I'm forgetting about. I really liked Animal Crossing. And music/rhythm games like Frequency, Amplitude, and DDR. I can't put games on there that I haven't finished (which is like, every RPG I've ever started), but out of the FF games, I liked 8 the best.
| KJRYANN wrote: | | i1. super mario bros lost levels (the cartridge that included all mario bros plus lost levels) |
Ooh, I have that! You're talking about Super Mario All-Stars, right? Very cool, cause they redid the graphics and stuff.

I have a Mac so I don't have as many games to choose from, but these are great:
(In no particular order--depends on my mood)
Diablo II Lord of Destruction --addictive hack & slash/RPG
Escape Velocity series --exploration/trading game
Myth: The Fallen Lords --great tactical RTS game
Starflight 2 --exploration/trading game
Richochet Lost Worlds --breakout-type game with many mods
3D Ultra Pinball series (and nowadays Littlewing pinball games) --le flipper!
Neverwinter Nights --RPG with many mods
Baldur's Gate (including Icewind Dale) series --RPGs
Deus Ex --great RPG/shooter, even though they didn't make a female character, after all
Gorky 17 --RPG strategy
Heroes of Might and Magic series --exploration/strategy/fantasy
Redjack --adventure
okay--that's 12, not 10...

Deus Ex! I haven't heard anyone talk about that game in a long time. I played that in high school. Seems like so long ago. Not sure if I ever finished it though. I should go back and play through it again.
No One Lives Forever is a good shooter too. I was never able to find the sequel though.

4. Shadow of the Colossus
5. Mario Kart
6. Guitar Hero series
7. Donkey Kong Kountry
8. Mortal Kombat series (2 was one of my first games ever)
9. Dungeon Siege (not a great game, but packmule is still one of my favorite video game characters)
10. Star Wars: Battlefront series (I'm not much for shooters, but I really love this one. I used to play with my brother all the time; I still need to get my own copy.)

Hrmm...
1) Chrono Trigger (SNES)
I've played this game over and over so many times, and I NEVER get sick of it. I never tried the PS2 remake of it because I still have the SNES version and a working cartridge. I loved all the characters and just always have fun going through it over and over again. And of course, it was the first (and only?) game that I ever ran into a New Game+ option so that made it even more awesome. The most fun I've had with an RPG.
The rest will be in order that I think of most likely, not necessarily in rank of favoritism. For me, it's more about replayability than graphics or anything.
2) Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PS)
Y'know, I tried playing Dawn of Sorrow on the DS, and it's just not the same. It really isn't. Alucard was just an awesome character to run around as. I don't think my boyfriend (at the time) really expected me to be that entertained by the game but it got so bad that he ended up having to buy me my own copy so I'd stop borrowing his. XD For some reason, I just don't think I'll ever be able to play another Castlevania game and have the same love for it. Most entertaining sidescroller I've played. Oh, this game also had one of the most awesome soundtracks as well.
3) Bust A Move 1/2 (PS)
The dance game, not the cute dinosaurs that throw bubbles game. Though that is kinda fun too. But yes, I have to include the game that I cosplayed not once, but TWICE. I mean, really, who can resist dressing up as a sugary sweet cute girl with pigtails, a backwards cap, a striped shirt and overalls with a mouse in the front pocket? Before the DDR boom started, there was Bust A Move, or Bust A Groove when it was later released in the states. The game was fun, colorful, had a wide range of fun music and was fun either in solo or versus mode. And it was a game that I could beat all my friends at even while tipsy on champagne. XD While I like Parappa and Un Jammer Lammy, I LOVED Bust A Move. Too bad Dance Summit was kinda meh...
4) Shadowgate (NES)
My first RPG type game. My brother had borrowed it from a friend and when I started playing, I just couldn't stop. I just loved being able to investigate and having to remember what to give someone and for goodness sake, don't let the torches go out! It was just a new breed of game that I had never seen or played before.
5) Final Fantasy 6(JP)/3(US) (SNES)
My second favorite RPG. I was pretty much introduced to this, Chrono Trigger and Breath of Fire at the same time. BoF was fun but I never quite got into it as much as either FF3 or CT. I can't tell you how happy I was when they came out with the GBA version so I could play it on my DS. I kinda whish they'd do a DS makeover version of it like they did for FF4 but at the same time, I don't. There's just a certain charm the little chibi avatars have and really, the opera house scene wouldn't be the same without them. XD
6) F.E.A.R. (PC)
I have yet to actually FINISH this game but man, it does quite the job of giving me the heebie jeebies. I can't tell you how many times I've yelled 'NO! MY PRECIOUS BULLETS!' after shooting at some random moving shadow or ghost-like thing that pops up at me. Definately need to finish it then get all the expansions for it. The AI is very good/frustrating as well as it actually moves with some sense of intelligence and self preservation. Makes it pretty challenging.
7) Hellgate London (PC)
You didn't honestly think I wouldn't put it on here when I plaster it's name just about everywhere else, did you? ;3 Yes, it's still buggy as hell but once the bugs are resolved, I feel this game will be golden. I get an unlimited 'John Woo' clip, access to napalm and other such AoE attack grenades and awesome sniping capabilities. The game is plenty challenging (for me) without being overly frustrating, save for a few instances here or there. I'm capable and functional both solo and in a team. I have the option of taking it to demons with a full auto machine gun or a sword. I absolutely love the game to pieces and hope it only continues to get better. :3
Time Crisis (arcade)
There's seldom a time where if i have time before a movie and there's a working Time Crisis machine, that I won't end up tossing some coins/tokens into it. Not really a game you play for the story but I love the duck and pop out to shoot action. Probably my all time favorite shooter.
9) Guitar Hero (PS2)
There's just something about being able to 'play' the rock songs you know/grew up with that makes this game awesome. I loved Konami/Bemani's Guitar Freaks as well but it was never quite the same as you were playing songs that, while awesome and fun in their own right, weren't familiar or classic to the US players. I have yet to get 2 or 3 but if/when I get the money, I definately shall.
10) Jet Set/Grind Radio (Future) (DC/Xbox)
Stylish cell shading art, awesome grafitti art, along with the option to make your own and a kicking soundtrack, JSR(F) was just a fun game to play. The first game was definately a bit more difficult to the point of frustration at times with having to do the swivel stick movements but still enjoyable. The second seemed to focus a lot more on the skating and grinding of the environment, which I was rather thankful for. Just a blast to play and some bizzare crazy music to listen to. I mean, c'mon...the Birthday Cake song? CLASSIC. XD

The controls were vastly improved for the sequel and there's a bonus level that can be unlocked, so it's much more fun than the original. There's always emulators and ROMs...

Rogue

Bloodrayne
American McGee's Alice
No One Lives Forever
Fallout
The Sims
DOOM
EverQuest
World of Warcraft
The Longest Journey / Dreamfall

Well, 1. ) EarthBound (SNES). OMG, you have to get an emulator and play this game. It's FANTASTIC. So quirky and weird and so much fun... and set in modern day. (No getting bags of gold when you kill an enemy... nope. You go to the ATM, use your ATM card and you've found that your father has deposited money into your account.)
The rest are in random order:
2.) Grand Theft Auto III (wow, this game is fanTAStic!)
3.) Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
4.) World of Warcraft
5.) SimCity (any of them. Although I liked the last one, 4000, the best, but the fact they had a transit addon for it probably had something to do with that [I'm a big transit nerd])
6.) Katamari Damacy (OMG SO ADDICTIVE... this would probably be #2)
7.) Team Fortress (oh, I wasted so many hours on this game)
8.) HalfLife (if I could draw, I would do Gordon Freeman fanart)
9.) Guitar Hero II
10.) Super Mario World (SNES)
Someone mentioned GTA: San Andreas. I have it and I just can't seem to get into it. Perhaps the cultural/racial differences? (I'm caucasian.) Perhaps the fact that I can't understand what they're talking about half the time? (I try, I really do.)

oh man, Earthbound was a pretty awesome game...however, it does not make it into my top ten.
the game on the top of my list for all time favorite is super metroid. best. game. ever.
and the following games all have a special place in my heart, so much that i still occasionally play them:
castlevania III
legend of zelda: link to the past
xenogears
hl: counter-strike
tetris
galaga
megaman series
super mario kart
soul calibur
i should also note i'm a bit of a nostalgia freak and haven't quite made the jump to add new(er) games to the list. newer meaning stuff that was on the last generation of consoles till now.

Hey TG,
Yes, I'm about to turn 54 and have often felt like the only lesbian gamer in the world. That's why I love this site. I played all the text adventure games, and then got obsessed by Myst and Dark Castle and Prince of Persia on the late 80's Macs and Zelda on SuperNintendo. I've been at it ever since, and hope, before I die, to experience full on virtual reality gaming.

1.) River City Ransom (NES)
The only game where I can eat a carrot cake and have +1 punch XD
2.) Bionic Commando (NES)
Whee! This game was so hard, but so good, I hope the remake lives up to the original.
3.) Megaman 2 (NES)
This is self-explanatory.
4.) X-COM series (PC)
This was a pretty detailed game I think, you had to defend Earth from alien invaders, manage your base, build it up, research for new weapons, and take your soldiers out to crash sites to save civilians and get rid of the alien survivors. Even your bases could be attacked!
5.) Final Fantasy 7 (PS)
This game took a part of my life I will never get back.
6.) Fire Emblem series (GBA/GC/WII)
So much gay + strategy rpg = win
7.) Bust-A-Groove Series (PS)
Great songs, very addictive, the game was too short though
8.) Return to Castle Wolfenstien (PC)
This game made we want to barf playing it until 6 in the morning.
9.) Jet Grind Radio (DC)
Such an awesome and different game, I love the artwork
10. ) Space Channel 5 (DC)
This is definitely a guilty pleasure XD left left right right, chu chu chu!
Other Awesome games:
Soul Calibur (DC) I lost feeling in my thumb for a while playing it so much
Katamari Damacy (PS2) was insane, rolling up everything was just craziness
Castlevania 2 (NES) was great, I remember being scared when it was night time and the monsters were stronger o_o
Halloween Harry (PC), awesome stuff, you had a flamethrower!!
Taiko Drum (PS2) Especially if you can play the Japanese import, it is such a good multiplayer game... and workout
Little Nemo the Dream Master (NES) Capcom made some of the best NES games, this one, Duck Tales, Chip n Dales Rescue Rangers, as well as the ones I already mentioned
Crash n' the Boys Street Challenge (NES) Awesome for its time, 4 high school teams battle it out by any means necessary, same makers as RCR and Super Dodgeball

WowOk - so i think in some kind of order 1 being the best!
1 - Super Mario Bros 3 (NES) - i once spent 48 playing non stop (no sleep) completing the game (no whistles) with my cousin over a weekend one summer - memorable!
2 - Tomb Raider series (Playstation and Wii) - an Unbelievably good franchise of games pretty much single handedly kept me out of trouble and out of long term relationships for the most part of my mid teens
3 - Goldeneye 007 (N64) - groundbreakingly good. not much more to say.
4 - Resident Evil 4 (Wii) - This game really adapted to the Wii's controls well. Made my first months with the Wii a real adventure.
5 - Guitar Hero Series (Playstation and Wii) - As a guitarist this was a red letter day when two of my ultimate hobbies (gaming ang guitars) were merged to form guitar hero. bring on rock band!
6 - GTA series (Playstation) - from the very first birdseye view games on the PS1, through the massive liberty, vice and san andreas cities and now onto the revisits on PSP these games are just huge! hours of entertainment and revolutionising gaming with the free to roam game style.
7 - Mario Kart Wii (wii) - What a game! the online aspect has taken this far beyond enjoyment and has created a gaming world amongst my work colleagues where we now trade time trial lap times and online wins over morning coffee instead of dull work stuff!
8 - Deus Ex (PC) - a great game with a great story. i even replayed it again recently on the Playstation. You know, for old times sake.
9 - Gran Turismo (Playstation) - I spent 3 months working in spain and the only thing to get me and my work colleague through was one of the GT titles. a monumental feat of driving excellence.
10 - Wolfenstein (PC) - the original castlke wolfenstein (nazi's and all) was some of the first gaming i ever did on my dad's computer stuck in his freezing cold study. this was the pioneer for games like Doom and Quake.
im sure i have missed some!

I guess the games I'm fondest old school games.
1. The Legend of Zelda - a link to the past (SNES) - gotta second everyone's recommendation of this game. epic adventure game, good dungeons, cute graphics, plus it has the attacking flock of chickens if you abuse them.
2. Super Metroid (SNES) - Samus! Another great adventure game with a good story to boot. I miss the little metroid.
3. Super Mario World (SNES) - another great platformer. I liked Blue Yoshi in the Special World.
4. Final Fantasy III (VI - in Japan) (SNES) - good cast of characters and one of my favorite RPGs
5. Mario Kart (SNES) - has the real Rainbow Road, wthout barriers. I liked the Gamecube one too.
6. Final Fantasy VII (PS) - another great RPG from Square. I'm glad they made the Advent Children movie.
7. Persona 3 FES (PS2) - interesting characters and battle system, you have to the play the append version to get all the extra scenes with Elizabeth, she's the best. I hope Persona 4 is also as good.
8. Okami (PS2) - the best platformer I've played for the PS2. Interesting concept.
9. Final Fantasy Tactics (PS) - a excellent tactical strategy game. There's so many job classes and the story was engrossing too.
10. Street Fighter II (SNES) - I suck at fighting games, but this was a classic

An a random order, listed:
1) Clock Tower(Playstation): A serial killer is on the loose and he's after you. The best part about this game is you don't have a single weapon and you better hope you got a good ass hiding spot.
2) Phoenix Wright, Ace Attorney Series (DS): Any Objections?
3) Shining Force II (Sega Genesis): You got to fight a blind kid named "Oddler."
4) MegaMan Series(NES): [pretend you're high] Oh, God, like, Mega Man is SOOOOOO awesome.... like, yeah... Let's do it.
5) Mega Man X (Super NES): Mega Man has a hadoken and Storm Eagle is hot.
6) Space Channel 5 (Dreamcast): The battle with Evila went beyond epic.
7) King of Fighters Series (Arcade to console): They have a secret lezzy in it. Go King!!
Dance Dance Revolution Series (Arcade): I'm down for any revolution: Political, Sexual, Industrial, Ballad......
9) Dark Savior (Sega Saturn): So many things can happen on a boat and change the world, about five different ways to be exact.
10) Sega Swirl (PC and Dreamcast): It was FREE by demo and addictive like crack!
Yeah.
Honorable Mention:
Metal Gear Solid (PSONE) It would have been on the top of the list if I hadn't played Part 4.
Ninja Gaiden (Xbox) The sequel killed it for me. It's not that the game was hard, there wasn't any level depth, something the original florished.
Odin Sphere (PS2): It's a great game that I didn't play. I have it, I want to play it. I know it's good but I haven't opened that damn package. I'm sure it will be brought down a notch by a bad sequel.
Oddworld (Psone): Abe a GoGO!! Also brought down by a bad sequel.

Tell me when you open your package and we'll have an Odin Sphere race, ja?
"What level are you on?"
"The one where you find out your brother is actually your sister!"
"Aww, you're farther than me~~!"
