Lol I'm not into it that much but I do like playing it once and a while. The originals are still some of my favorites but the graphics are much better with the new versions. _________________ Can you please get off my land mine!!!!! |

This was a pretty detailed game I think, you had to defend Earth from alien invaders, manage your base, build it up, research for new weapons, and take your soldiers out to crash sites to save civilians and get rid of the alien survivors. Even your bases could be attacked! |
Wow acro_circus! I cant believe you mentioned X-Com, this is the perfect game, in my opinion. An awesome blend of turn-based-strategy and gestion with a dash of science-fiction... it doesn't get any better than that.
At first I thought a top 10 was too much but when I started making a list, I found myself in a dilemma. Maybe we need top 10's for each consoles, or maybe I play too much... or I'm just old
1- X-COM Enemy unknown (also known as UFO Defense) (PC)
2- Chrono Trigger (SNES)
3- Super Mario World (SNES)
4- Resident Evil 4 (GC)
5- Zelda: A link to the past (SNES)
6- Age of Empire II (PC)
7- Civilization III (PC)
8- Advance Wars: Dual Strike (DS)
9- Advanced Dungeons & Dragons (INTV)
10- The Sims II (PC)
And honorable mention to Star Wars: Jedi Outcast, Max Payne I, Tetris, Sim City 2000, Hotel Dusk and Final Fantasy III (DS) and many others that I just can't name because this post would never end. _________________ - Kin Corn Karn "A winner is you"

Oh my, Max Payne. I stopped playing that at the 'walk on a thin line of umbilical cord with a baby crying in the background'. It just creeped me out too much to keep playing there >< _________________

I know I've already posted my top 10 but has anyone here ever played anything from the Quake Series, most specifically Quake 4. Talk about scary. Try playing that with nothing but some headphones on and the lights turned off. Can't count the number of times something jumped out at met and I almsot squeaked. Also great gamepaly. _________________ Can you please get off my land mine!!!!! |

My list is a little strange because I have only been playing a console for just a minute, but a PC for years. I put the one and only console game I've played (not done yet) on the list as a friendly gesture. No real order.
Zanzarah (fairy fights, my favorite fairy flew around pooping rocks. One of the cutest, strangest, funniest and fun to play games around)
Drakan (you get to fly a dragon, that alone does it for me, it took the lure of flying a dragon to get me to play a game that killed things and now I play on the darkside regularly)
Divine Divinity (my first RPG, a game that gently and with humor taught me the ropes)
Marrowind (my 2nd RPG...the real deal, in spades)
Oblivion ( Loved the freedom, put every gem I found on my bed and it was a sight to behold.....also discovered Mods, consoles should somehow figure out moding)
Timelaspe (an old one and glitchy but I love traveling through time to different cultures)
Journeyman I, II, III (also old but HUMOR and Space and Timetravel, I'm so there. If it had a dragon to ride I'd never leave)
Bad Mojo (again sense of humor and atmosphere, loves me a bit of atmosphere)
Myst and all its desendents, even Uru (the game that started it all for me, I figured out Myst without a walkthrough (either they didn't exist then or I didn't have a clue they existed) and as I was just an average kid in school this was the first time I realized I had some smarts and could figure out stuff if I was observant and put my mind to it, great stuff to learn about yourself)
Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction (my first console game and my first game where I have to do physical type stuff, like jumping and gliding, shooting goop and bouncing on it, and NOT stepping off the many many edges of things, to progress. I'm a klutz but determind and yeah its fun and funny)
Next up:
Adenture= The Lost Crown (PC) (good reviews, spooky treasure)
RPG= Kights of the Old Republic (PC) (yipee been wanting to play this so bad...light sabers!)
PS3= Uncharted (ouhhh Mayan ruins....well a few pirates to kill but owhhh Mayan Ruins, treasure)
The Future (I am so liking playing on my TV screen........what's this I see in the foggy misty crystal ball.....an XBOX.....damn) |

Yes. I've played an episode of Quake 1 (on my Wii! Yay for homebrew) and loved it, but I think I prefer Doom. Anyone ever play that? Scary stuff (I thought). Up for talking about Quake too, though. _________________

Yay!! You know what I'm talking about! Whenever I mention that game to people I just get blank stares I can't find the original game, but I know Gametap has the second one available :X One of these days...
