Aaahhh! A guildie from WoW recently told me about Aion.. and I was a bit hesitant at first since I'm somewhat still into wow, having been only played for less than a year now. However, when I actually checked out the game's website.. it looked amazing and uber fun.
Somewhat looking forward to it with knowing so little about it, so perhaps I'll purchase it when it comes out.

Oh, also anyone in the beta for this:
How good of PCs are you all using to run this? Looking at the videos on the site it seems like the game would have pretty high system reqs, but I can't seem to find them on the site. _________________

Found the system minimum requirement on the Taiwanese Aion site:
| Code: | CPU : Pentium 4 2.8GHz/SEMPRON 2800
RAM : 1GB
VGA : GeForce 6600/Radeon *1550
HDD : 30GB
OS : Windows XP SP2/Vista
DirectX : 9 (2008.6) |
I'm running it on my decently new laptop and it runs fine. My FPS doesn't go over 40 but still good enough to kill around. Didn't test fortress sieges but I reckon it will be lag like hell in this case... My specs are dual core, 3GB ram, GeForce 8500M GS and Vista. _________________ Need a legion for Aion, become a Giant Angry Winged Robot! |

I was trying out both servers to see more of each faction, Elyos and Asmodian. Definitely going Asmodian. The beta event weekends are a nice idea for those wanting to see how they like game, however, I hate to relevel chars so won't be playing the events much. Wipes coming in four weeks then one or two more times before release (so the rumor goes, yet to find a dev saying that).
As for system, I'm playing it on AMD Athlon 3G duel, 3gig mem, GeForce 9600 GT 512mem, which runs it without a glitch. Haven't done a raid situation or siege so not sure how it does then but the main city when packed with players doesn't seem to bother it. I keep textures for world and models at near max or at max in dang near all games, however, I do keep shadows off. They bug me for some reason. *shrug* |

I'm definitely playing AIon. I checked out the last two betas and just fell in love with the game. I've never payed for a game in my life but it has everything I have been looking for. There is going to be at least 3 LGBT Legions in the game if anyone is interested in checking them out.
The Q-Legion is going to be Dual Faction and has legions for Asmodian and Elyos on both the EU and NA servers. Check them out HERE. (I'm a member ^^)
The Rainbow Mafia is an Elyos legion on the NA server. Check them out HERE.
Taint is also going to have an Elyos legion on the NA servers. I do not have any info on their Aion website as of yet.
All of the LGBT legions on Elyos NA will be on the same server come launch so we can try to make a friendly environment and awesome alliance for everyone. I hope to see some of you in game. |

Well, after WoW became super easy and just plain boring, I convinced a bunch of guildies to purchase the game.
So along with myself and the guildies in tow we played Aion for the last two betas, and everyone has loved it so far. Its pretty amazing graphically, and the game play is very different. I LOVE the chainskills. Also, there is an in game quest helper, that will actually locate quest NPCs for you. How awesome is that?
One thing I don't like about the game so far is just the UI, but nothing a few add ons won't fixed. And trust me, there are people working on them now, and will probably be ready for launch. _________________ Before you go down the street, make sure you soak in a bath of cold water first. |

Anyone actually playing this? I just bought it and it's amazing graphics wise.
I found the intro quest area/storyline pretty fun too and interesting. Though levels 1-10 felt like a bit of a slog overall.
