I have a very eclectic playlist, it's mostly always on shuffle so every thing from acapella to world music plays, but constant repetitions include armand van helden - i want your soul (raido mix), david guetta - pop life, soulja boy - crank dat, leona lewis - bleeding love, alicia keys - no one, lil mama - lip gloss, loads of arab and african songs sprinkled with bacahata and merengue!! what's yours?

I have been listening to Uh Huh Her a lot lately. I really like their music. My favorite band is Shiny Toy Guns. I am kind of all over the map with my music too. My favorite genres are indie, trip-hop, electronic and screamo. I like female vocalists the best. Although some times I will break down and listen to pop (ahem...it's embarrassing). But I figure, if I like the way it sounds, I'm gonna listen to it. Doesn't matter what it is, who it is, what language it's in or whatever.

I'm on a site called Last.fm. It keeps track of all the music you listen to, and makes charts for you. And you can get recommendations based on what you listen to. It's cool. Anyone else have it? Here's my page.

I also have Last.FM. Check it out: http://www.last.fm/user/C4bl3Fl4m3

However, I do a lot of my listening on transit, where it can't be recorded by Last.FM.

So what have I really been listening to lately? Music from GHII and Doctor Who theme remixes. Yeah, I'm a dork.

Here's the list of what's in my MP3 player right now, sorted by artist.  As you can see, my taste in music is all over the place.  Many of the artists are indie and/or local.

These songs are chosen from what I've actually got as MP3s, so much of my favorite music, which is on  vinyl, isn't represented.  Also, I don't have room on my hard drive to convert all my CDs into MP3s.

Anyway, I change the selection on my MP3 player every now and then, and I usually play it in shuffle mode, so it's like listening to the radio without the irritating DJs!

I am a huuuuuge Vocal Trance/Dance/House kid.
I am actually trying to go to Ultra Music Fest, down in Miami this spring break.
Most of my music comes from overseas. ie. Belgium, and the UK so it is difficult to get my hands on it...legally. But whenever they have a CD in the States, I run to pick it up.

Then I have times in my life, mainly a few days, were I listen to something completely opposite. Music Binges I call them.
Like this past school quarter, during finals I listened to nothing but country music.
I was up the whole week working.
I played Carrie Underwood on repeat for that whole week.

yeah...
Music Binges.

Yeah, I like a lot of French music, so I know what you mean.  I used to buy (literally) boxes of CDs when I visited Paris and mail them home.  I also found that much French language music (including from France and Belgium) is available in Quebec province in Canada.

BTW, I do music binges, too!  My partner gets really sick of hearing, for example, the Rocky Horror Picture Show Soundtrack or the latest Faith Hill CD over and over!

What I hate is that the iTunes store blocks you from buying from the other countries' selections unless you have a credit card or bank account registered in that country.   Mad

There are places for legal downloads that do carry some foreign music although it is mostly indie stuff:
besonic.com
magnitune.com
cdbaby.com  (also has CDs)
