LOL. good call. i am kind of impulsive when it comes to buying games so i have a bunch sitting around collecting dust. a few of them have never made it inside my xbox...
it just makes me think i need to play more, when in reality...
actually, the strum bar on my rock band guitar is going out...and i messed up the green drum pad so i have to ship them in for a replacement. at which point i will play some other games to occupy time and space. |

Hey guys,
really great to have people to bounce things off re Mass Effect!! I definitely need to play it through again and go the biotics route... also the nasty route since I was nice to everyone the first time. I'd like to see if being mean makes a huge difference or not.
Who are your favorite team members? (if you've gotten that far). Also a slight hint, don't mess up the Paramour Acheivement like I did!! Make sure you talk to a certain someone on the ship whenever she's not feeling well lol DAMN I can't believe I messed that up!
Agree about the vehicle control, it was the one thing in the game that just felt a little too clunky. Re Weapons, I don't think they felt overly different to be honest, other than recoil perhaps, obviously the damage differed a fair bit and the sniper rifle was insane!!!
As games go though the female characters in Mass Effect kicked ass. I haven't felt that loved up by a lead character since Heavenly Sword on the PS3 lol |

i really want to get a lot further into the game but i also need to finish school at some point in my life. LOL.
the biotics are pretty neat. i was told by a friend the 'singularity' is pretty neat and i want to try it out.
so far my favorite team members to run around with are tali and kaiden. i will probably play through again using different folks as the staple of my team.
i always play through the first time around as the wreckless badass. maybe because in most games you're forced to play the good one and it's just fun to ignore most rules and end up shooting people just because you feel like it. haha.
i will def make sure to work on that paramour achievement. so much buzz about it! |

So the sniper rifle is really cool...I think I'll play through as an Infiltrator next time then.
The best team I've found to run around with is Liara and Tali, so I don't ever take a combat specialist with me. It's an extremely biotics heavy team (singularity really does kick ass), but it suits the way I play. I'll probably go for more balance when I play an Infiltrator so I can send the rest of my group forward as meat shields .
Of course Liara is my favorite character to talk to, but I'm a little biased there. I really like Tali's character; she's probably my favorite and has lots of funny things to add to conversations. I like Kaiden a lot too, maybe I'll play through as straight some day...
I was just confronted by Kaiden and Liara and forced to choose between them (easy choice), so I guess I'm on the right track with the romance. I didn't mean to lead Kaiden on, but all the other options just sounded too mean. Oh well. |

Hi there,
i can totally relate to the desire of sharing the enthusiasm for a good game ! I finished Mass Effect last night and it was great ! Especially the Ending ! A very nice conclusion, some interesting choices to make and ofcourse the romance plot reaching its peak right before the final mission. The "sex-scene" is short, but i liked it ! I didn't watch it when it was posted here and on other sites. Didn't want to spoil it for me
As for my choices, from about 1/3 of thed game onwards i was always with Liara and Tali. I liked those two characters a lot. I didn't like Ashley, Kaidan was nice but a bit boring, Wrex was fun and Garrus was ok.
I would have liked to have a bit more fleshed out relationship with Liara. And i would have liked to see Tali's Flotilla Homeworld and maybe get a glimpse of what she looks like under that Helmet Well, since it's supposed to be a trilogy, we'll see what the next intallments will look like. Maybe there even will be an expansion.
All in all a very good Game with some room for improvement, but still one of the best there is out there right now. And again, since some people seem a bit confused about it: This is NOT a shooter ! Bioware is making Role Playing Games like KOTOR, Jade Empire, Neverwinter Nights, etc. and nothing else ! You need time and patience and a love for good storytelling and interesting characters. If you are looking for a fast paced action game then this is not the right thing for you.
Would like to know how some people decided during the game (You can't save 'em all), but then it wouldn't be spoiler free anymore ...
And lust but not least a snapshot of my Avatar from the game:)

"lust but not least"
I agree that Bioware makes very good role-playing games. I have several for the Mac.

Mass Effect is a great RPG for female gamers, especially lesbian gamers! BioWare knows how to create strong, intelligent female characters... whether PC or NPC.
I've played through 5 times, on my 6th now to earn more achievements. I hope to get good enough to playthrough on Insanity. LOL
My forum AV is an in-game screenshot of my Commander Shepard PC. Best face I've ever created.

I haven't yet played Halo 3... should I?
I'm gonna go curl up with my Elite now... cheers! |

Glad you're feeling the Mass Effect love Kerrigan. I'm totally stunned more grrls aren't playing this game to death given the cool dykey commander.
I'm going to play it through again I think and be a total bitch to see how it differs (I was really nice the first time through).
How are the biotics? I never used them, I think I might do that as well next time I play through. |
Biotics are cool! Especially Lift, Singularity and Neural Shock.
I've played both Paragon and Renegade, and mixes of both. I enjoy Renegading the males, and Paragoning the females. Choice! |
