This is PVP/RVR centered MMORPG set in the Caribean circa 1720. Players command sailing ships as pirates or nationals, the nations being Britain, France and Spain. The game went live for those who preordered as of today. Launch date is the 22nd.

I played this as a beta tester last summer for a couple months, and although I'm not much into PVP, I enjoyed it enough to preorder it. So I played it today for about 6 hrs and had a great time.

The ship to ship combat part of the game is rock solid; Very well done. Although the avatar combat system seems a bit lacking, it is still acceptable. The crafting/economic part of the game is pretty detailed, allowing players to produce pretty much everything in the game. Character creation reminds me of COH/COV, with the added feature of free taior shops in game so you can change your look when ever you like. For the graphicly inclined, there is a system in place to bring user created content, in the form of flags and sail designs into the game. (very cool)

If you're into the pirate genre, this is worth checking out.
I'm playing as Contessa Margali, a pirate on Rackham server.

i was talking to a friend about this and Warhammer Online (amongst a few other online game titles) last night, while the idea sounds pretty cool with the RvR thing, i really get caught in the muck that is PvP. i really blame asses in Anarchy Online for my more or less hate of 'enforced' PvP. i'm not against PvP completely but the reason i got into MMOs in the first place is that i like the freedom of being able to explore most, if not ALL, of the landscape, and it sucks just a lot when i'm just trying to explore or make it to a mission and some twinked out, PvP point e-penis jerk comes along and blasts my avatar to the shunned 'planet' of Pluto. yes, that happened to me on AO while my avatar was still Neutral aligned, and sure, i managed to zone to a safe zone with a sliver of health, but they guy had the nerve to follow me and then say 'HA HA HA! You should TOTALLY join OUR side!' ...needless to say, i not-so-politely said he really needed to work on his recruitment skills (or lack thereof).

anyways, i love me some pirate themed stuff and if you can convince me that there's safe waters for a care bear like myself, i might be willing to give it a go if there's ever a 'invite friends to try it out for 10 days' type of deal.

for now, i'll stick with CoH/V and HGL. ;3
