I can't remember where I heard it from and don't know how much truth there's to it; but somebody said people can get hacked through xfire easily? I actually used to work at Xfire, so maybe I can help you out on that, or at least ask one of my former coworkers some technical questions. Xfire itself has no spyware. Some completely, totally random person also PMed me through that forum asking whether I had an xfire account quite a while ago... so I never got one.
