Me and my girlfriend bought Halo 3 like last week, just cause we were curious to see what all the hype was about. I was quite excited expecting it to be a really amazing game, but we were really disappointed. I would actually go as far to say it is one of the worst games ive played I cant understand what the hype is all about??
Graphics are good but not amazing ive seen better
Gameplay is terrible
Storyline is terrible and so are the controls.
Will be taking it back tomorrow and maybe trade in few other older games and get GTA IV when it comes out on tues.
Just curious if anyone shares the same views as i do about Halo 3?

I love Halo 3... I bought a Halo 3 Xbox 360...
I personally don't buy games until I try them first as I don't like to waste my money.
If you have enjoyed other FPS games then I'm not sure why you don't like Halo 3...
As for the controls, you don't say what you don't like about them so I hope it's not something as simple as changing your control scheme layout in your settings.
Graphics-wise, not all games are about graphics, that's like judging a book by its cover and I personally have nothing negative to say about the graphics. Have you taken any screenshots within the game and then looked at them on bungie.net? I think the detail is pretty good, something that I didn't realize on my regular CRT TV.
I don't care about storyline in ANY game I've EVER played. It's all about fun for me. Although I think Halo 3 has a lot of cut scenes/movie time - if I recall correctly in total it's around 2 hours which I think shows that they put in a lot of time and effort into the storyline. Have you even played through the entire campaign to SEE the entire story? If not, then how can you bash it.
Anyways, I think what sets Halo 3 apart from other FPS games I've played is that
- it's fantasy... not based on reality so aside from a headshot with a sniper, you're not dead within 1.5 seconds of being attacked by someone
- multiplayer is fast-paced short games with a variety of gametypes and a variety of levels - if you don't like a gametype or level, simply avoid it
- speaking of variety, since it is fantasy, there are a lot of different weapons
- co-op campaign is good and if you're a crazy hardcore gamer you can totally make it harder by activating skulls
- I simply love driving the vehicles in this game
It's unfortunate that you don't like the game but I'm not sure why you posted about it - your mind's made up so Halo 3 lovers aren't going to talk you into enjoying it, and I find it strange that you're looking for people that agree with you - what's the point in wasting time discussing a game you don't like?

Personaly I hated the story of halo 3. i've hated it since halo2.
When playing Halo 3 i skipped every bit of cut scene because it was so damn boring.
but i LOVE love love halo. why? online play is brilliant. so fun, fast paced, tactics or none.
play it online. then you'll understand the hype. and if you want the story. The official novels are very good. |
