LOL nah, I never really got deep into the ShizNat groups really. I liked reading the occasional fanfic and looking at pretty art but I never had anything to contribute myself so I didn't get that involved. I did ask her if she would be interested in doing art for a project my friends and I are working on but she said she was pretty busy. That's about it. I'm sure she's an awesome person but I'm just a teeny bit bitter she got the girl I wanted but hey, as long as she makes her happy, I won't have to go Shizuru on her, right? Rolling Eyes

That sounds pretty rough. I could see why you'd be ticked at her.

I use to be into fan art and fan fiction to the point where I'd stay up all night reading and looking. But I got away from it when I started playing Halo. Now that takes up a lot of my free time at night, besides hanging out with friends and whatnot.

I was into Noir fan fiction too. There are some beaitulfully written stories. Same with Marimite, but I could never find very good Sachiko/Yumi fics. ;_;

LOL well, I'm not really ticked at HER necessarily, just a lil' sad over the situation, I suppose. I congratulated them on their engagement when they announced it but yeah, made me a bit emo. ;_; Dah well.

I read more fanfic during my Rurouni Kenshin years if anything but will usually read anything pointed out to me by friends. It's so hard to find good stuff when there's places like fanfiction.net that let anything and everything be posted. x_x;

Hello.... try this author: Laurie R King.. she has written 5 detective novels with a character named " Kate Martinelli".. The first book is called "A Grave Talent". I found them very quick, smart, and she is queer!

You might give Sarah Waters a try. She's a very good author. She has 4 books, (I think), the best being, in my opinion, Tipping the Velvet. The BBC made a mini series out of Tipping the Velvet that is pretty good. The book did make me cry but it is an excellent read. I can't seem to remember two of them but the other one is Fingersmith, also good but pretty subtle as far as the lesbian content goes. Girl Walking Backwards by Bett Williams is great. I LOVE that book. Bett has another book that's about her own life that's also very good called The Wrestling Party.
Hope this helps; happy reading

I like a lot of lesbian books that are a bit of fun, glitzy (or should that be clitzy) humor and I wondered if anyone could recommend any decent lesbian authors or books they've read?

I love that whole trashy Jackie Collins feel to lesbian books, the more drama the better. I'm not big on all these lesbian cops and detectives, so if anyone has something they think I'd like, let me know!

Thanks
xx

My favorite lesbian author is Fiona Zedde.   She writes more for the african american audience but she is great!   www.fionazedde.com    That's her official site and you can check out some of her books there.     I used to read so much more than I do now.  While i'm home,  my 360 just calls my name and I don't do much else!  Sad

I love Sarah Waters, the way she writes is brilliant. 'Affinity' is another by her, even less lesbian content than Fingersmith (also now a film) but still good. The fourth one I havent read yet 'The Night Watch'. Tipping the Velvet I have read so many times, love the film as well, but book is definatly better. If I were Nan I would have fallen head over heals for Kitty as well, aaaaaahhh *heart flutters*
